DB Coach Search

Theres 3 spots remaining on staff. For how atrocious our DBs have been lately crazy to think their wont be 2 DB coaches. Also, since it’s 4 down I’d expect a DT coach as well.

You could still have 2 DL coaches. If the DC is also the only LB coach that leaves us 3 open positions so 2 for the secondary and 1 for DL.

Off campus recruiting coaches remains at 11 coaches.

It’s 11 staff members, and Miami uses guys like Juan Navarro to be an off campus recruiter

You don’t need your special teams coach to be a recruiter. Mario has no excuses to not hire an actual coach instead of using analysts

I’d much rather have a safety and cb coach since the HC is a LB coach.

Which ever combination helps us recruit dbs better im with it.

No there is a new rule that allows more on field coaches. However, I'm not sure of the actual number allowed. Anyone know?

There is confusion on this issue. NCAA Bylaws remain in effect for having 10 countable, "on field" coaches, 11 including the HC. These coaches are the only ones allowed to recruit off campus. The bylaw that did change was allowing non countable "off field" staff, advisors (no limit to how many) to provide "technical and tactical instruction" to athletes. Reminder: Head coaches may temporarily appoint a staffer to fill a "countable" role for off campus recruiting when those roles are vacant, which is why you are seeing Cooney and Navarro on the road.

With 3 hires to make for on field coaching and 4-5 off field coaches that need replacing I hope these are done soon - when does spring ball start?
