DAY 9 PRACTICE THREAD - WITH DAY 9 INTERVIEWS

Trent Harris in black? I like. Also interesting to see Darling working at RT with the ones. Gall at center, he absolutely has to push McDermott.

I could dig this, Darling could be a road grader at RT, and Gall could be an upgrade at C.

With Rayshawn Jenkins not out here Deon Bush and Jamal Carter lining up at safety with first unit #UM

Hmm, no Dallas?

unbelievable...Dallas Crawford is a head collector out there and he ain't starting?!? Bull$h!t.

I wouldnt read too much into it. they are probably just practicing different scenarios. anything can happen and they need chemistry together too.

First group DLs running the 4-3 third down: McCord-Kamalu-Chickillo-Muhammad. Backing them up: Harris-Pierre-Thomas-Muhammad (again).

I've been screaming for that 4-3 alignment for a while. The backup crew is not half bad either.

I,m wondering if this 4-3 experiment may evolve into the surprise of the year. Staff must feel good about the DT position.

Sorry, what's new about this? We almost always ran a 4 man front with McCord and Muhammad on the ends in 3rd Down situations last year

I'm going to say something that will be unpopular, but idgaf.

I expect for one guy to be named the starter in a week or so, but I fully expect that we'll see both Kaaya/Heaps play on Labor Day night...all in the name of "different guys have different skills, and we want to put those options on the field".

I'll say it again, if Kaaya keeps playing like this I think you have to start him. Kid is the future of the program.

I've been calling Kaaya as the #1 for months now. It doesn't make sense to me, unless you think you are going to win the national championship, to start a 5th yr transfer IMO. We need some continuity. Kaaya can be the man for 3-4 yrs. Unless he gets the crap beat out of him it's going to make him better. He just seems to have that "IT" factor in him. Hope I am right.

I never understood this. You play the guy who gives you the best chance to win this year. If it's Kaaya, so be it. We havent played in an ACCCG yet. Enough playing for the future because the future isnt going to have Duke and DP in it.

It's a played out saying butttttt...."If you have 2 QB's you have no QB's". I'd prefer we roll with one guy because you can't even make the case that Heaps and Kaaya are different style QB's and one is bringing a running element or something.

@mattyports: On Kaaya, Denzel Perryman said "I can't rattle him for nothing." On Heaps: "He's about my height but he gets the job done."

Seems like the players really notice Brads calm demeanor and that he checks down a whole lot.

Thats music to my ears, Snickers just threw into coverage no matter if Duke was wide open on the side.

Tucker speaking to Brads movement like Peyton is telling. Calm in the pocket, can create space to continue the progression and hit his check down.

Thats all he has to be this year, a conductor. We have the horses who are ready. Easy plays, easy throws, and they will make him look like a superstar! WE BALLIN THIS YEAR!!!!!!!

I realize I'm getting way ahead of myself, but it would be great to see Kaaya do his thing for 3 years and then a young cactus Jack Allison come in and take over where he left off. I realize there is a lot that can and will happen between now and then but it would be great after the QB issues we have had over the last decade.
