Day 4 Spring Practice/ Pro Day Discussion

CORAL GABLES — Perhaps a week past the peak of the viral video crazy, the Miami football team went all the way Thursday morning with Harlem Shake video shoot.

As in quarterback Stephen Morris wearing a flamingo costume.

Running back Duke Johnson was dressed as a penguin.

Eddie Johnson was in high spirits dressed as bloody mutilated baby.

And somebody wore a tutu.

It was absurd, but that's what the latest trend calls for.

LULZ at the addition of the EJ mutilated baby bit. I think that thing's gonna catch fire.

fo sho, but EJ prefers to call it human veal

The final 4 or 5 games, the light went on for Deon and he was playing at such a high level. He was our best defender, IMO. He got the mental part of the game and I remember praising him on this board. He's going to be an AA.

agree 100%

its very encouraging to see that Bush, Jenkins, Howard, Kirby, Mccord(all freshmen) and a lot of other players on defense improved immensely throughout the year. They're gonna be scary good by the time they're juniors. Hopefully we continue to see that development on the rest of the D, especially the DL

Yeah man you could see those flashes right away but he really got rolling. Only thing holding him back was injuries and his size. Dudes shoulder was crushed and he was still out there going all out.

Now he is growing into a collegiate body and there will be no stopping his ascent to the leader of this defense.

Gotta love AG and his energy

Its insane the jump he made from Columbus to UM. I went to see Bush play several times, he was not aggressive at all in run support and looked very unimpressive at Safety in general. When they did put him to go man, he was lights out... But if this kid continues to improve at this pace...holy ****!

^ AG is intense when he steps on that field

More and more I'm starting to see Pete Carroll, with a bit of Jimmy mixed in. He's a lot like Pete with his looseness and program building, but he's got something that I don't know that Pete has always had, and that's the ability to needle the players and still keep the pressure on so that they know that the spotlight is always on them.

He's the happy medium between Pete and Saban.

God I hope he stays forever.

This, he seems to know when to be slacked and let them have fun as in the harlem shake video. That builds a team. However, he seems to keep intensity without being an *******. which is better, he pushes without hurting

That he can be above 500, recruit Top 10 classes, have his team as one of the ACC favorites heading into his 3rd season all the while suffering through the worst 2 year stretch this programs history.
"Are you kidding me?"

you want Golden to stay forever, but what has he proven so far?

-that he can develop talent(Bush, Jenkins, Streeter, Jacory, Howard....), something that previous staff couldn't do

-that he can embrace our Alumni, something the previous staff couldn't do

-that he can recruit well even with looming NCAA sanctions for almost 3years now, something the previous staff couldnt do even without the NCAA issues

-lead a very young team to win the Coastal in the ACC, something the previous staff couldn't do

-MOST IMPORTANTLY, that he can stay loyal and keep his word to these kids, the U and its fans by seeing this through even with schools like Tenn knocking at his door and impatient entitled fans asking "what has he done?"

This & if you can't see the progress Golden has made then you will never see it or just don't want to
