Day 3 Spring Practice Discussion (Photo's,Video's, Reports)

I've heard others suggest it, but seeing how flexible Odogwu is and how low he can get makes me wonder if he can play defense. From what I've heard, he's very fast for his size and can run all day.

There are very few players at his height (size) and arm length that can play defense.

Just saw this kid in the food court - looks enormous. Was also walking as if he was sore as **** which is good to know.

Carroll said #Canes WR Rashawn Scott has shown a "workman like attitude" since returning. Scott was suspended for final 3 games in 2012
12:44pm - 5 Mar 13

He showed a workman like attitude turning that chick's face to mincemeat too. This dude is rock solid.

They should have doubled his catch total from last year though because every ball he caught he caught twice. Reminds me a little of Hank with his early struggles with catching the ball cleanly. Doesn't seem like he has naturally good hands. Either that, or he was nervous last year in his first real action.

Agree with this. I think once the light comes on for him, it's lights out for opposing defenses.

The amount of WR talent we have is ******* staggering. QBs should be lined up around the block for the next 5 years to come throw to these guys.

States that Dobbard is at a size where he could play now and that he's "gritty"

We NEED Dillard to emerge as the true #2.

And where would you put Odogwu on defense? What is he, 6'7 290?

In 2014, we need a swing tackle pretty ******' badly.

Shayon Green looks like he's about to keel over and die at any moment.

You can just see the toll those injuries have taken when you look at his stiffness laterally in that drill as compared to someone like Chick. And Chick ain't exactly Jason Pierre Paul.

He had decent #s last year, wasn't he the leading tackler on the D-Line?

/very stiff

I love what he brings to the team in terms of work ethic and leadership, but if that's the guy leading your d-line in tackles it is not hard to see why we were 116th in the nation.

Bingo. It just shows how bad the DL was a whole. Green can barely stand anymore. He shouldn't be getting major minutes.

+100

This is not an attack on Dmoney or anyone else, but I have to shake my head every time i hear someone wanting to take even more bodies away from the OL. Without Sonny, our only returning reserve OT for 2014 is Taylor Gadbois. That's not even a real two deep.

Same thing happened with Knighton when folks wanted him moved to DL. In 2014, if Knighton gets moved, we will have only 5 returning interior OL returning for 3 starting spots. That's not even a real two deep.

Meanwhile our DL will return FOURTEEN kids for 2014 for 4 spots, unless we see attrition there.

Outside of QB, the OL is the most important unit on the team. Why shortchange it?

In 2013-2015, we need a long defensive lineman pretty badly.

I don't think he's ever played defense so this is entirely speculative. But he has several attributes that translate, and he seems (judging only from this video) to have the flexibility to play low despite his height.
