Dawson sucks too

It's amazing how people on this board live for losses, so they can pull weird narratives out of their butts, narratives that have nothing to do with what is actually on film.

No playcaller is going to be good enough for the idiots on this board, and Dawson is the perfect case study. He followed a complete joke in Gattis and IMMEDIATELY improved the offense, and that's despite having a QB that consistently commits awful turnovers, which limits what you can call. Miami had a top 40 offense with TVD last year.

Miami lands a good QB in the portal, Dawson calls his way to easily the best offense Miami has had in TWO DECADES. People love to whine about "Dawson's run game isn't creative enough", while Miami runs the ball down people's throats. One can argue that Dawson should have run the ball more, considering how effective the run game has been in the second half of the season.

I find it a bit odd that the same fans that can't stand Dawson, are huge Lashlee fans, the same Rhett Lashlee those fans hated while he was here. It's almost like we have a lot of mopes that can't stand every single person associated with this program.
Yeah, there was definitely a contingent around here that was ready to run Lashlee out of town on a rail. Not enough motion, running game not creative enough, ineffective in short yardage, etc.

Then we had all this criticism of Mario for caveman ball and he goes air raid and now we see complaints about being too pass heavy.

The offense this year was very good. The problem is that the defense was so bad the offense had to be very close to perfect, so it’s few shortcomings were greatly magnified.

Fire the OC of the number one offense in the country? Got it. Fanbase continues to show its colors
People wonder why I am the way I am on here & why I have the opinions I have about the collective fanbase as a whole...

I promise it's not me being arrogant or smarmy, we objectively have the stupidest fxkin fanbase in the country & they prove it to be true on a DAILY basis.

Just let this crap go. We lost and it was deserved. It's done. Dawson, while having some different play calls in moments from me, had a great season. This fanbase is freaking ridiculous.

Dawson needs an adult around to tell him NO when it comes to calling certain plays in certain downs/distances, and subbing in depth guys.

That's what Mario should be doing.

There's no checks and balances. No accountability.

Dawson could be better if he worked for a good leader.

We had the #1 offense in the country.

Im not even the biggest dawson fan but how the **** is he getting slander lol

I truthfully only nitpick him because i know our offense was our only chance of winning games. So we basically had to be perfect to win.

He should be the broyles award winner

Cam is great but he got here late and dawson still had him up to speed and comfortable to lead us to the #1 offense in the country

This may well make for an interesting bump next year when Ward is no longer around....

My complaint about Dawson is the consistent second-third quarter swoon we saw in almost every conference game. Miami usually came out swinging but opposing coaches adjusted in Miami took a quarter or two to figure out how to counter. Once FSU showed the world how to defend Cam Ward we had a fewer counters.

Look at today. Three touchdowns on three consecutive drives thru early 2nd quarter and then 17 points the remainder of the game. Against an average to bad defense. Contributed almost as much as the defense in blowing a 21-0 lead.
Dawson underutilized the running game all season. With a 21-0 lead we should have run thr ball more eating up clock and dominating the line of scrimmage. We didn't have any games where we were committed to the run. We had some quarters where we would focus on the run.

I watched my Philadelphia Eagles against the Baltimore Ravens today. The announcers talked about how the Eagles OC completely changed his philosophy to run oriented when the Eagles acquired Saquan Barkley from the Giants.

As much as I love Cam Ward, I think his talent hurt our running game in thst we didn'trely on it as much as we should have. It's crazy to say, but I think the offense will be better for the team being run first next year. It won't be as ****, but the offense will protect the the defense with more ball control. With more ball control, we'll have more game control. I do think the defense will be better when the young studs finally get their turn. They are more athletic and have a higher ceiling than the 2024 defense.

I don’t think he sucks but I do think it was a dire mistake to not run the ball with Martinez aggressively. He had 10 touches… that’s on Dawson

Exactly. Which was #1 in the country. Are you a ******* ****** or something?

If we had even an average defense we are undefeated.
And we have yet another "fan" here who doesn't actually watch the games.

Here's what happened.

On November 9th, 2024, the university of Miami Hurricanes played the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in which the "#1 Offense" scored 23 points. The "#1" offense scored THREE whole touchdowns.

To a sane person (not you), having the best QB in the nation, and an offense full of future draft picks, scoring 23 points against a .500 team is 100% unacceptable.

Dawson is not the main problem, but he is not beyond reproach. He gets in his own way too often.

For next year, I would suggest tuning in and watching when the games come on. You can watch the team play instead of sucking off stats.

Sooo Dawson was given a layup with talent via HS ranks (oline, X, arroyo, Horton) and the portal (cam, Martinez) and did what he was supposed to… #1 offense in the country lol

I know it’s crazy. Ward was a day 3 pick and Dawson only let him become a Heisman finalist and 1st round pick. Absolute travesty
The talent was there at Washington State he just didn't have the caliber of players as he did here. If we went to Oregon there would be no doubt of him being the first overall QB.

Not close to perfect but perfect anytime you have to not punt multiple times to win or not have a single turnover on offense to win your defense is hot basura 🗑️
