It is easy to say we had the number #1 offense in the country.
Obviously we did. There were so many bad calls that didn’t matter because Cam, X or Martinez would bail out the second and long. We should have been able to control the field on Cuse. They should never have been in position to score that many points when we had a 21 point cushion.

Dawson did just enough to get out of the way most games. He knows the game based upon the first drives. Much of the other success was despite him not due to his play calling.

Defense was much worse but Dawson absolutely should not get a pass. Name one game that you can say we were so lucky we had Dawson. How many were Cam bailed us out.

This should have been a historic offense. It was excellent.
Great players across the board. But there are 50 OC that could have done just as well. And at least 30 that would have done better.

Fire Dawson. If not next year we will regret it.

My complaint about Dawson is the consistent second-third quarter swoon we saw in almost every conference game. Miami usually came out swinging but opposing coaches adjusted in Miami took a quarter or two to figure out how to counter. Once FSU showed the world how to defend Cam Ward we had a fewer counters.

Look at today. Three touchdowns on three consecutive drives thru early 2nd quarter and then 17 points the remainder of the game. Against an average to bad defense. Contributed almost as much as the defense in blowing a 21-0 lead.

I wouldn't fire him, that sends a horrible message, but I'd encourage him to find a HC job somewhere.

He's a good OC, but nothing special. The significance is that by hiring him Cristobal showed a willingness to adapt and play a more aggressive brand of offence. Dawson himself isn't that great.

I said pre-game you needed to somehow break the cycle (it was always going to be a basketball game) and get two scores up.

We got 3 scores up then the O disappeared. Crazy stuff.

We started rotating guys and messing with the rhythm of offense instead of securing the win. I dont want to but am curious about 2nd qtr. There was a critical sequence where I think syracuse scored and then we come out with Lyle, Mccormmick gets next touch and 3rd down we go to sam brown.. Just a wasted drive trying to get lyle and mccormmick touches?!

Defense is who they are, we know they have their faults....but why are we giving up on the passing the ball? For whatever reason we stop running plays that works. Chemistry and rhythm was outstanding. SU could not stop the forward pass to save their lives just like UM could not stop SU passing offense, the only difference is they played to win and we played not to lose. Simple as that!!

Did Sam Brown make a contested catch all year?

I agree that we ultimately lost the game in the second quarter.

We knew the defense was ****. We knew it was going to be a shootout. The defense gave us two miracle stops in the first, which allowed us to go up 21-0.

We needed to go into the half at least 28-14, and probably 35-14.

Instead we go 3-and-out, then stall at midfield.

No that is not his game, and his speed didnt translate at this level to create enough separation. Very glaring when matched up against a team like syracuse and they got contested catch DEMONS straight BULLYING our CB to the shadow realm. Porter is cooked. Hopefully OJ doesnt meet the same faith of that corner we never heard from after that bowl game against Okie who was cooked for rest of career.
