Dawson Scheme notes

That was a BRUTAL 1.5 quarters for us though haha I didn't think we were ever going to cross the 50 that game. Blink of an eye and we were smoking them.
Yes it was brutal. We were sitting next to a group of WVU fans who were smirking in our direction ... until Kaaya put up 21 points in those 5 minutes. They never looked our way again and 'sneaked out' half way through the 4th quarter. Dana never recovered. That game and the ND game in 2017 have been getting me through these past several years. We need some new 'victories' to start feeling good again. Like A&M at the Rock in September.

He was ****ed that they had to play UM "a bottom feeding team in the ACC" as WVU had a 10 win season and Miami barely made bowl eligibility ... but ... after a full quarter and a half of being ice cold (couldn't basically compete a pass) Kaaya put up 21 points in like 4 minutes and WVU fans were stunned at half time.

WVU thought they were going to smoke UM and the 21-7 half time score had them totally stunned ... as did the 31-14 final. Kaaya was on fire ... too bad he had virtually 0 mobility or he would have made it in the league.

Richt playing under center/forcing the run killed us.

Then towards the end he opened it up and just threw the ball and we couldn’t be stopped.

I remember his halftime interview saying how he hated throwing the ball so much towards the end there.

That’s the exact moment I knew Richt was never going to be the guy for us. Dude hated scoring three TDs in 5 minutes and the offense being unstoppable.

Give to the jet^

From the few games ive seen now, Dawson LOVES this play.

Probably have to go HB counter with TVD. I do not want to see him try and run a counter lol

So far this is the only way i've seen Dawson run GT.

Dude...both the games you posted, Cincinnati and Texas Tech, Houston's offense is f***ing awful. That offense looks just as bad as the Gattis offense.

I literally didn't have an opinion on this guy until I watched those games and now I think we might be in trouble.

How on Earth can anybody watch that and think we're going to be better?

In fairness, the Cincinnati team is the one that went to the playoffs in 2021 and had the nation’s 5th best defense

His Houston offenses and the first year at Southern Miss, the offenses are too “German watch” for me.

It’s all precision and timing and all the pieces have to be moving as one. Which is why some people keep seeing a lack of rhythm with it.

Even though he didn’t have a ton of success, I like his 2017 and 2018 Southern Miss offenses the best in terms of what Miami should be.

There’s a lot of read option. A lot of RPO.
There’s an RPO QB roll outs where the QB also has the option to pull it down and run if he likes that better. So it’s an RRPO almost.

There’s a little more sandlot to it at Southern Miss. And a little more east-west to the playcalling.

I think if you're trying to win a national championship you're not hiring coordinators whose excuse is, "my offense looked like garbage because their defense was really good". You're supposed to be hiring the 1% that can make a good defense look bad.

We'll have to see man.

The blitz pickups and run game were just bad. Their oline was cheeks

I would say maybe Mirabal + Mario would help with that but we just had the same issue with Gattis

If you can’t explain why his offense sucks schematically please stfu. I can find a random woman in the mall and have her say ” his offense sucks “ with no explanation why.

I need to tell you schematically why his offense looks like garbage against the two best teams he played? Why? Will that change the result?

Football doesn't need to be rocket science. Remember when Lashlee's wife and kids were asking why he runs the ball up the middle so much? I don't need to know how an airplane can fly to realize one that's missing a wing is probably going to crash. Some things are obvious.

You're trolling, right?

But texas tech in 2021...

Look, we'll see how this works out. Maybe it'll be great.

All I know is you can't point to Mario and say we trust him to make a great hire because the entire staff he hired last year is already gone. And you have the general consensus from the team he's coming from saying they're thrilled he's gone, which sounds an awful lot like last year and Notre Dame fans with Gattis. Then you show me some games of teams he's played with a pulse and the offense looks like trash.

I want Miami to be good, I really do, but there's not a lot out there that makes you feel like this is going to go anywhere else but mediocre.

Whoops, there you go cherry picking again lying. In 2021, the year I think you are talking about, Houston hung 44 on #19 ranked SMU, the 2nd best team they played. Fail. Btw congrats on making the point that Houston had the 5th most points (20) scored all year against #3 Cincinnati, the best team they played who went 13-1 and made it to the CFP where they gave up 27 points to Alabama.

IN 2022, Houston played two ranked teams and averaged 34 points against them.

Did Dawson take your girl or something? If there is something you don't like fine, but be intellectually honest. Don't lie, cherry-pick, spin and deceive to make the UM OC look the way you want to fit your clear agenda.

Yes, some things ARE obvious.

It's hard to take you seriously when you aren't actually explaining your position with any reference to the offensive system or playcalling, and you don't know Gattis came from Michigan. Maybe you're right, but you haven't presented any sort of convincing argument.

You see gender in your cereal? That's weird.

Nah, I just happen to be a Cane and don't appreciate being lied to or seeing people lie about my U.
I'm just being inclusive.
