IF/When they decide to fire Holgorsen, I would imagine they try to go after guys like
Tyson Helton, Jeff Lebby, Josh Henson or GJ Kinne.

With the players Cristobal recruiting and the current stability of the program he would be mental to leave if the job is not the perfect one for him. Venables stayed at Clemson for a while because he knew he would have the talent to cook every year. We will too.

Dawson should also learn how to build and run an organization while he's here, which will take more than 2 years.

Cristobol had Davis and Saban to learn from in how to build a championship team and organization.

My biggest concerns with Dawson were:

Analytics said his offenses were HORRIBLE every year except last year.

Way too slow of a pace.

Way too mechanical. There wasn’t much of a backyard, “college-ness” to his offenses.

All of the above hurts his QB’s rhythm.

The only success he had was 2022, in which he had to really spread teams out and throw it. Which he has said he does not want to do, but instead prefers a style he hasn’t had success with.

His Houston offenses were very downfield passing.

Not a lot of actual RPO, which needs to be a foundation of modern college offenses.


Outside of the constant downfield passing, he’s done nothing this year that makes me think my concerns were invalid or have been answered.
 
I don't know what to make of the guy but i know hes at the very least not really good.

The offense was fun and exciting against A&M but it's been downhill since then from a creativity standpoint. It feels like Mario's dumb *** is getting involved/TVD going to **** have made him go into a shell.

I happen to agree. Don't like his playcalling at all. Absolutely no innovative plays whatsoever. If Mario is compounding the playcalling then we have a major problem. He needs to leave Dawson and Guidry tf alone. I'm way more happy with Guidry. But as far as I'm concerned Dawson is totally expendable.

Curious to hear what kind of questions are asked at his upcoming press conference. Dawson can be a bit curt if reporters touch on a nerve.

-Offense averaging 34 points and 440
-Before the Clemson game, we averaged 465 total vs UNC, GT and aTm.
- 17th nationally in YPP - 2nd ACC
- 13th rushing national /10th YPC - 2nd YPC ACC
- 17th scoring national - 3rd ACC

I’m not sure what everyone was expecting because all we heard all off-season was how terrible the wide receivers were. We haven’t had a single legit, healthy, receiving tight end healthy. TVD is obviously having many issues right now and seems to be the main culprit in this offensive funk. Our running back room is decimated.
You can disagree with individual calls all you want but acting like he’s been a failure is the height of ridiculousness. TVD had plenty of options open underneath all game. He chose to force the ball time and time again. Now that could be on coaching or that could be on the guy who looks to be disinterested and admitted he’s not watching enough film.

If he admitted as a Senior, that he's not watching enough film, then he needs to put the F-ing Golf clubs down, and get his *** in the film room.
