Dawson Scheme notes

My cousin plays for UTSA so I had the game on by itself and in a multi-cast for most of it.

I don’t think the problem is Dana’s scheme. It’s not that the offensive genius behind the success has left the building.

It’s his recruiting. There’s no talent on that team. I don’t expect them to be able to perfectly replace some of the NFL pieces they lost. But at least look like a team that recruits in a fertile territory.

His lazy recruiting reputation has caught up to him. I think the hope was that Houston itself would mitigate the impact of that. But it hasn’t.

Yea lost their qb1 and wr1 to the league who was **** near the whole offense, a step back was obviously coming

I know you are well read, but this fallacy was shot down by a former member of the Houston staff. Holgy did not take over playcalling.
No he didn’t but there was an outcry from the fans many of whom wanted him to do so.

I mean we’ve got plenty of talent relative to the program. They’re just not being used properly. We’re getting Dana up out of there real soon. Hopefully alongside coach Sampson so his son can take over lol

Did we ever get info on how much option route stuff got installed for this year?

It’s a good amount, but I’m not sure how well the WR core can execute it. I don’t think you’ll see it for the TAMU game, although giving their lack of talent at DB, it would be perfect.

Installing this kind of innovation here makes me more than hopeful. Splitting the defense in half like this should have folks on skates… love to see it. We’ve seen RPOs but a RPO that goes two different directions isn’t something I recall seeing here before

Thursday we go back to basics. Let the big young OL push around the FCS with Emory getting lots of snaps. On D, let’s get healthy and sit everybody that needs a break.

yeah I get what he’s saying but we always had a legit nfl player as our number 1 WR regardless of his stature. Tank could have played anywhere. I think Miami is far more talented in an area I wish houston was and that’s at tight end cause we like to stress the seams and get them involved. We had reliable guys with good hands but never a game breaker. Miami has potentially 3 just in that room. That’ll make the rest of the offense hum. I’m all eyes on jacolby George tho

Like holy ****! From what I had read, I was reasonably sure we were getting the better teacher of him and Dana, but its looking like he may have been the creative one too.

Yet his most impressive feat as far as I'm concerned is how well he's managing up.

Does UH offer him gig if he blows up this year and holgerson gets boot? Thats kinda what happened with Lashlee.. Hopefully they get bad taste in mouth with holgerson and want to go in complete different direction and hire a recruiter to stock cupboard or something
