David Gilbert comments......

Gilbert is being used completely wrong here.

When he was healthy at Wisconsin he was disruptive force in the backfield as a 4-3 DE. I believe that's part of the reason he left Wisconsin-they are shifting to a 3-4 and he felt his talents better suited a 4-3. Having him stand up at OLB and drop into coverage is not his game.

Again, square peg, round hole.

People will lose jobs if this continues.

Here's the kicker, next year when Shayon ain't playing anymore, and we see a marked improvement defensively overall or at his position, that's when I'll officially deem the coaches dumb and they play that sr card way too much. Until then, I'll take the wait and see approach, since it's all we got as fans... Unfortunately.

If Gilbert was that good he would have shown it on the field. If he had he would have had more PT.

This is true at every program throughout history. The best player always gets onto the field no matter what.

Al Golden is the biggest con man and liar that has ever been the HC at Miami.....

he does all of this lying (recruiting) to recruits telling guys like Gilbert and Beau Sandland that the team needs them and they will get all this playing time, only to find themselves not doing anything all year.

The only thing Golden recruits guys for is to fill a space then he acts like making a bs depth chart should some how be viewed as an accomplishment even though u wont get on the field.

So now Gilbert didnt know weve been moving towrds a 3-4 here the last 2 years?

But when you try to tell the mindless sheep on this board we play seniors even though they are less talented they attack you and call you crazy....fckn idiots

Green has actually been pretty good this year.

Anthony Chickillo 43 tackles, 7 TFL, 3.5 sacks, 0 FF
Shayon Greene 60 tackles, 10 TFL, 3.0sacks, 1 FF

Chickillo gets a pass, but everybody wants to pile on Greene and say the kid shouldn't be playing??? Greene has had a little better year statistically. The truth is all these guys have gotten on the field. McCord, AQM, Gilbert, Kamalu. And they all have screwed up their share of times. Of course the guy on the bench is always the better player.....

Maybe it's Shayon Green's team because he's the best leader..?

I mean, kid was just inducted into the Iron Arrow society at the beginning of this term, and from his actions that I've witnessed firsthand, he seems to keep the guys in line. A ****load better than if you were hearing quotes saying "this is Morris' team"

Green hasnt been HORRIBLE. He just isnt a BCS contender level DE/OLB or whatever the **** position he played. As long as guys like Green, Gaines, Highsmith, Rodgers, and Cornelius were in our two deep/starters we were never going to be at BCS level.

Green is what he is. A starter on a 8-3 potentially 9-3 team. He is Derrick Ham not Jerome McDougle. He is Michael Boireau not Daniel Stubbs.

Nothing wrong with that as long as we as fans can come to grips with it. I honestly hope this team goes 10-3. Whether some of you fools want to believe it or not SOME of these seniors actually DESERVE to go out like that 98' team did or the 99 team did. They can say, "We were the ones that helped turn the tide for this program to return to dominance".

Dont tell me guys like Green, Linder, Porter, Robinson, Eduardo, and Hurns dont deserve that.

To be fair Green has been put in different areas. Moved around, not asked to anchor our DL and take on tackles and TEs. Green is the weakside in the 4-3 and they love him to an outside LB in a 3-4. Chickillo aint being used properly while Green gets treated like he is Aldon Smith or somebody.

I'm not trying to pile on Chickillo. Just think it's ridiculous, absolutely ridiculous, to throw Green under the bus the way some "fans" are. The kid is a solid football player. You don't get double digit TFL if you aren't at least that.
