Damarius Good commits

Disagree. Frierson is a narrow framed, high-hipped, straight-linish athlete. Good has a bigger, more proportionate frame, better change of direction and converts speed to power much better.

Agree with the rest of the post.

There's actually a lot of good comments and back and forth in this thread and both sides have made some great points. It's not bashing to say his film is underwhelming and that his speed on the clock doesn't match his speed on the field or from camps. It's also not being a pumper to say the kid has good traits. He does have a nice frame, he does have good times on the watch, and the thing i like about him the most is he's not afraid to stick his nose in the action.

This is one of those times i'd actually like to watch him on a track. Maybe he is thinking to much on the field and not trusting his speed, i don't know, but For some reason his 100 speed and his times at camps don't match his football speed on the field. We've all known kids whose football speed didn't match what the stopwatch says.

Lets look at the bigger picture. Our staff likes bigger bodied CBs because of what we ask them to do in the run game. Couch is small and has flaws, same with Jaden Davis, Dent is probably not coming, Elam is prob not coming, Steele is prob a long shot even tho he will visit, stevenson will be a fight till the end and it's probably only 35% in our favor at this time, we offered the carol city kid although he isn't the biggest kid on the block either, and Dixon over in Tampa is still in play and actually @Tee3000 can give us the update there or if he is the goods, he coached him this spring iirc.

But For all of the people not liking taking this kid, Where should we go at Corner? We need to recruit a few, but this is a very DOWN year in our backyard.

Agreed. I think one of the reasons his field speed isn’t matching his clock time is because he has poor RB vision and instincts. It’s irrelevant to recruiting him as a CB. If you look at Crowley’s tape, who is significantly slower, his tape jumps out at you because of the cuts he makes and using defenders momentum against them to then take it to the house. Takes a good evaluator to see his skills translate to another position like CB. It’s why he has such few offers. Time will tell but looks like Staff did a good job here.

If he has good film i will, but as of now he doesn’t and that’s just being completely honest

The lack of film is true, however, Good just had a great Spring Game and looks like he will be the star on offense for Lake Brantley this year. If he stays healthy, he likely will produce some great tape.

That's what the staff's thinking here is likely. You see a kid and notice him in practice, then you get the commit before he blows up. I mean, it's a risk, but it's also a risk waiting for a 5* who is having bags thrown at him by half the SEC.

And I don't get your comment about CJ being faster. I mean there are verified track times that say that isn't true. If Good balls out this year and jumps out on film, it won't be because he suddenly got faster. He's always had the speed, it's just a matter of being able to showcase it

You neophyte!!!!

Of course I sound stupid to someone that wears a wig to hide the scars from his lobotomy.

“Every kid that makes the roster” = every kid that we sign on signing day you ******* MORON.

Between now & signing day..we are going to have kids that we drop & those that drop us. Until they become Canes (you know-make the roster” & sign on signing day then it’s fair game.

Go see the wizard & get a brain & quit wasting oxygen for the rest of us you mouth breather.
What is a neophyte?? This my 2nd time posting in here, and can already see that you're the type who like to complain to staff and Bully people.. Lord knows from what I see you don't much about football...im not claiming I know a lot, cause I don't. But in a group of girls, you're that ugly one, that always got something to say....although you're not that bad looking, but every time you open your mouth , it shows your insecurities, and just how ignorant you really are. Ima run your a ss off this board or either ima make a you a better poster. I apologize for saying you're worthless, cause everybody is important in a way. You're just important in a very small way. Ima run your *** off this board or ima make you a better poster trust me...cause the both of us can't be on this board, it ain't enough room for light(me) and darkness(you)....soo which one will it be? Until then you take all your pro Miami gear off and wear your high school gear, until you learn how to behave...uiu definitely not a Miami fan...

Hopefully he enrolls early, he will be physically ready, but enrolling early will be key to the extra reps at Corner.

Yall questioned the take of Mike Jackson. Just remember that...
I questioned the take of M Jackson and last year was proven wrong. I questioned the take of the likes of Larry Hope and Vernon Davis and was right, when others were telling the board how these were diamonds in the rough that earned their scholly at camp and I’ll trust the coaches over anything. We are talking about getting back to an elite level, and we are taking kids like this before June? There is reason to be questioning this pickup. Now that obviously doesn’t mean the kid is no good, he could blow up and become a hurricane great but based on what is there right now, this is a headscratcher.

One scary thing about a kid at any position in high school football, is has he reached his full potential already. Defensive back is a position that has to be coached. Yes some guys are natural defensive backs, but there is a lot of knowledge and knowing how to line up and technique that's needs to learned. I don't care who you are, if u line correctly you already have a 50 percent chance to win that battle, other 25 percent is talent such as size and speed, 25 percent is confidence. So most of those traits can be taught.

I agree..except one thing. Tee3000 comments are not good...

Your schtick has already become boring. Move on. And I am not on anyone's side here. But do your part in ending this and just shut the **** up already.

I can't stand when some people don't know nothing about football and potential. Most of the NFL draft picks are drafted because of potential. Y'all need to look at Florida State 5 stars and the other 5 stars who didn't get drafted. For example tolliver from LSU..eberybody **** in they clothed when he left the state....and McFadden from Florida State...bot even drafted.... I'll take this kid all day with his potential. 10.63 and 6 feet tall, I'll take him... I played wing T .....1 year highschool. I tore my knee my Jr year and rehashed. My senior year I played 5A in Florida. Never played cornerback in high school... Went to SEC and shut down some good receivers on a poor defense. I was drafted 1st day. Started as a rookie. So I'll take bethel and good any day. You haters stop predicting people future. Yall what you call dream killers..Trust the coaches. As soon as them boys balling y'all gone be on their bandwagon. So if your not sold on this commitment kick rocks...Mr. Good if you listening f%$# the haters and use it it as fuel to reach your potential. I believe in ya...I like this commitment....
Fock yeah!!! I’m with you, I likey likey mucho!!! The physicality this kid displayed Is outstanding! And he’s fast 🏎💨 ! Maybe they can put in a Wing T package on offense for him as his specialty. I can definitely see him contributing on Special teams right away. Plus he ain’t no pussycake Diva! Go Canes!!!
