Damarius Good commits

Don't get me wrong, I would prefer a highly rated, polished, established CB...
Like a 'no brainer' type of kid...

But I don't see any of them considering us.

Yeah it's really amazing...Hopefully the smoke about Elam being more receptive to us in recent weeks is true.

We hate losing the elite kids to other schools and also wonder how kids that turn out elite are completely missed by our staff and other schools.
Seems like this staff has a clear vision of what they want and is trying to evaluate everyone they can regardless of rankings especially players from this state.
That is something we all have been wanting UM to do. It’s one thing to say we strike out with elite recruits due to bags not winning facilities coaching etc...
But it’s another to completely whiff on kids that ball out at lower tier programs and get drafted. Or worse kids that never get offered and go kill it somewhere else. Bandy would be at Oklahoma right now if not for this staff.
Asante is a kid that left to FSU. Maybe we didn’t push hard enough or maybe he didn’t want to come. Some here know more about that situation but at least it seems that the staff doesn’t want too many players bandy’s size.
Imagine if this kid would've committed to Syracuse and locked down receivers? we all would sit here and complain about how the Fuuuuk did our staff miss out on a kid who was 6 feet tall and ran 10.6 and played multiple positions in a wing t offense.

Perfect post.

Love the athleticism in his clips. The way he runs reminds me of Phillip Buchanon's HS tapes.

Funny that you mention that because watching his tape reminded me of Jeremy Davis -- Phillip Buchanon's half-brother that we recruited in 2010 out of Ft. Myers.

I was high on him as a DB prospect with outstanding physical tools despite his tape being mostly offense (in a similar capacity to Good). He was an underrated prospect that I really thought had the talent to be a player--thought he was a lot like his brother. But, he had grade issues and had to go to prep school. He then enrolled at UCF and I have no idea what happened to him. He may have fizzled out for one reason or another because I don't see any record of him being there beyond his freshman season.

Perhaps that's a cautionary tale with regards to Good. But, between prep school and having no records of being on UCF's team beyond freshman year, I'd assume it was other things outside of football ability that derailed Davis.

Good stuff fellas. It's interesting how times change. Growing up in the south, I was one of the rare people that rooted against uga, auburn, AND bama. I disliked them all. What I do remember though is Bama most times had a mediocre offense and a top notch D. The reason being that most times they put their best athletes on defense. I remember the old heads when talking about certain guys would always say so and so was a qb, wr, or RB in high school.
