Move makes sense since it really served no purposes to have him #2 behind Duke being that they were similar type of runners.
Duke and big boy Gus will make a dynamic one two punch. Thunder and lightning if you will.
Plus DC is playing his more natural position at Safety.
Golden is getting this program back to where players don't have to switch positions in order to fill a void in depth at certain positions.

Quick list - Pete, Tito, SFBay stir the ****, You right now. Almost everyone here mixes it up and has some fun. Then there are those with schtick and misinformation who troll us for giggles, like Chise and Whooping, up to their hijinx. Then there are true trolls from the outside ******* with us.

Current problem is everyone is tense and when a positive hope for the Spring is stomped on as a blind slurper folks kinda get tired of it. Who got a bulk of the carries when Duke went down? Who do you think our coaches trusted more to tote the rock?

at least now you're trying but I think it was more a case of the coaches going more with the experienced player.
But now that that Gus got experience and higher ypc to boot they're going with the better back who brings a different dimension to the run game than what DC brought. DC about hit his ceiling as an RB Gus hasn't even begun reaching his.

It's pretty normal when a coach has basically 2 unknowns like he had with DC and Gus he sides with the older more experienced player.
However once their abilities have been displayed and measured through an ample sample size of carries and situations, in this case by their respective YPC, a coach can then make a fact based rational decision.
Dumb would be to take the player that has proven to average 1 less ypc like you and Ridler would. Now thats dumb.

Gus was the 4th best short yardage back on the team last year.

Kid showed some flashes though, but Crawford just had that will, but Gus has time. He's already such a beast physically and still so young. I don't think Crawford would have been as effective as a freshman.

Should have been at S from day 1. Super smart super tough player with great instincts and far better athleticism than some of the drek they've been trotting out there. He's exactly the type of defensive QB we need. Great ball skills too, and he will light you up like Bob Sanders.

He's not a RB, and him playing there was a testament to the horrific recruiting of that position by this HC. Total fail all the way around. ****, I would have played Deandre Johnson at RB instead of wasting Dallas at that position when we clearly needed him at S.

Think is upside is higher at safety than at running back.

He deserves reps, based on what he's done for the team, I like him getting them more at DB than at RB.

With his brain and instincts and toughness I could see him winning a starting job at S.

You really think it's difficult to notice that the comment that basically says "we moved someone to a new position as a mass cover-up to make the defense look less crappy" is a joke? For real?

I know things are tense around here and people are frustrated. There are a lot of comments about the lengths Golden will go to "cover" for his friend. I'm yet to hear or read anything as ridiculous as "we moved Dallas Crawford from RB so the defense wouldn't get punished as bad." We're talking about an actual player. He actually moved to another position. I find the concept so ridiculous that I thought it'd be an obvious joke. Especially when it's followed up with "everything is marketing."

The fact I've now had to explain it 3 times seems like a reflection that the board is polarized and ready to pounce on anything that goes against one of the perspectives. It wasn't trolling. It was sarcasm. It was sarcasm aimed specifically at the "Golden Wars."

My biggest fear is another injury to Duke. Coming off an ankle injury, Yearby as well.

When Duke went down last year, we saw how badly our offense suffered. I don't think its completely inconceivable to think missing on Alex Collins in the 2013 class cost us the Coastal.

If Duke and Yearby go down with injuries we're f*cked with our without Crawford at RB. I have no problem with moving Crawford back to defense because he probably has a higher ceiling at safety. The more fundamental issue is how thin we are at RB due to missing on Collins, Sony, Cook, and Powell.
