We have an injury waiting to happen in Duke, and then 3rd rate RBs behind him.
No worry. 2014 is really Golden's first year.
No worry. 2014 is really Golden's first year.
Move makes sense since it really served no purposes to have him #2 behind Duke being that they were similar type of runners.
Duke and big boy Gus will make a dynamic one two punch. Thunder and lightning if you will.
Plus DC is playing his more natural position at Safety.
Golden is getting this program back to where players don't have to switch positions in order to fill a void in depth at certain positions.
Thunder and lighting is the most overrated, overused buzz-term of all time. **** is so overrated.
Gus isn't even a "thunder" player. He runs softer than both Duke and Dallas. I'd take Duke and Dallas over Duke and Gus.
Also, once Yearby gets healthy he'll probably jump Gus Bus for playing time. Lightning and Lightning. I don't need thunder.
I'd take the guy with a 5.1 ypc (Gus) over the 4.1 guy (Dallas). But I'm sure you have your logical reasons for wanting the guy that averages 1 yard less.
I can't take you seriously. You're the dumbass that tried to use total tackles as the basis to your claim that our DL makes more plays than top defenses in the country like UF, FSU, LSU and MSU.
It's not about taking me seriously. It's about you taking a running back with a 1 yards less ypc without providing any sound reasoning to support your position. I made you look foolish and can't back yourself up except by trying to deflect. Weak but I got you dog.
The only person you named that does any kind of trolling is Whopper. You wanna add Sneaky Pete for doing stuff with Luther Campbell and Chad Wilson, fine. But SFBay? Tito? Not sure what your definition of troll is but it's obviously different than mine.Quick list - Pete, Tito, SFBay stir the ****, You right now. Almost everyone here mixes it up and has some fun. Then there are those with schtick and misinformation who troll us for giggles, like Chise and Whooping, up to their hijinx. Then there are true trolls from the outside ******* with us.
Current problem is everyone is tense and when a positive hope for the Spring is stomped on as a blind slurper folks kinda get tired of it. Things are not all rosy, but we know what already happened, we can only really hope what happens next is better. Doesn't mean we will be happy about it or not critically discuss it.
Franchise and myself are unhappy with the way the program is going. We both made a hard turn after the Virginia Tech game happened. No one had a problem with us before that time, when we were making every excuse under the sun and rationalizing everything that was happening to that point. We've also posted less in recent weeks. You can categorize us as insufferable twats for complaining all the time, but we're not trolling.
Edwards had a gaudy 5 ypc but who was the player our coaches went to in short yardage and goal line situations even though Edwards out-weighed Crawford by 30 pounds?
Who got a bulk of the carries when Duke went down? Who do you think our coaches trusted more to tote the rock?

Let's pretend like you are taken seriously with this.......are you saying Golden is dumb? I mean, I guessing he started Crawford over Gus for some reason other than the stat you provided? Or did he?
Different dimension? What is that? Because it's not the power dimension. Dallas had that covered
I can hear that kid Burgess from Louisville now. He's like, " I hit that dude so hard twice. Now he's playing defense."
Why do we seem soooo soft?

It's pretty normal when a coach has basically 2 unknowns like he had with DC and Gus he sides with the older more experienced player.
However once their abilities have been displayed and measured through an ample sample size of carries and situations, in this case by their respective YPC, a coach can then make a fact based rational decision.
Dumb would be to take the player that has proven to average 1 less ypc like you and Ridler would. Now thats dumb.
Think is upside is higher at safety than at running back.
He deserves reps, based on what he's done for the team, I like him getting them more at DB than at RB.

This is a ploy to make our defense look better during the spring. Always marketing.
For you geniuses who negged, this was a joke about the "always marketing/branding" theme. Obviously, you don't move a player to make a defense look better. Yikes. Must have struck a nerve.
Sometimes it's hard to figure out what's a joke. THere are a LOT of posters on here who likely would think exactly what you said. Some even had the gall to claim that Golden going to see JoJo in the hospital and spending time with his family was a marketing ploy as well. Glad to hear you were just joking and not one of that fairly large group of "fans" that we have on this site.
You really think it's difficult to notice that the comment that basically says "we moved someone to a new position as a mass cover-up to make the defense look less crappy" is a joke? For real?
I know things are tense around here and people are frustrated. There are a lot of comments about the lengths Golden will go to "cover" for his friend. I'm yet to hear or read anything as ridiculous as "we moved Dallas Crawford from RB so the defense wouldn't get punished as bad." We're talking about an actual player. He actually moved to another position. I find the concept so ridiculous that I thought it'd be an obvious joke. Especially when it's followed up with "everything is marketing."
The fact I've now had to explain it 3 times seems like a reflection that the board is polarized and ready to pounce on anything that goes against one of the perspectives. It wasn't trolling. It was sarcasm. It was sarcasm aimed specifically at the "Golden Wars."

Zero running game after Duke is hurt (by game one of 2014) , and zero passing game (with a QB that couldn't beat out Morris) and it will be "Wait till Kaaya! Wait till 2015!" Just as Golden has planned.
If Duke and Yearby go down with injuries we're f*cked with our without Crawford at RB. I have no problem with moving Crawford back to defense because he probably has a higher ceiling at safety. The more fundamental issue is how thin we are at RB due to missing on Collins, Sony, Cook, and Powell. We have an injury waiting to happen in Duke, and then 3rd rate RBs behind him.

My biggest fear is another injury to Duke. Coming off an ankle injury, Yearby as well.
When Duke went down last year, we saw how badly our offense suffered. I don't think its completely inconceivable to think missing on Alex Collins in the 2013 class cost us the Coastal.
