Daily debate: what QB would you want over Carson Beck?

Beck was .3 yards per attempt more than Klubnik, but adjusted yards per attempt Klubnik blows away Beck.

Klubnik top returning QB in college football at completions over 20 yards and TD’s over 20 yards.

Klubnik Is in elite company with all Heisman winner or finalists accounting for 40+ TD’s with 7 or less turnovers while taking your team to the playoff.

Feel free to ride with a guy coming off a down year and coming back from a major injury. I’ll take the guy coming off the best year of his life, who’s also gotten better every single year.
He "blows away" Beck for one reason and one reason alone in 24 - turnovers. That is the entirety of the reason. If Beck has 1.5-2% INT rate this year he will be better than Klubnik.

DJ is a regular *** QB get his name out of here.

LOL, I thought you mean Lagway (DJL) when you wrote: " It was tough to take Beck over DJU and the gnome at FSU, I almost included their names." I mean, you cannot possibly have meant Uiagalelei. That guy was trash.

Klubnick is a system QB. He's gotten much better though, so could surprise to the upside. Worthy name for Top 5 QB list in college. But specifically in terms of preferring him over Beck as a transfer, not an upgrade IMO.

Yea I was trolling

You were on Cam from the jump. Not a lot of guys here are watching the late night west coast football like you though.
facts its why I had no idea who Cam was till I saw the tape and knew he was the best QB even in last years class imo. Shout out to Memnon for being a vampire bruh

Not saying I would 100% choose him over Beck, but players can’t inprove? You are comparing a 2023 version of Cade, completely skipping the amazing year he just had most recently, vs 2025 Beck? Does that make sense to you? Honest question?
In all seriousness, of course players can improve. Particularly at this stage.

But, bro, he lost to Emory Williams lmao. Like, really? The premise of the earlier post was that he was "for sure" better than Beck and that's not true in any world. And I'm not saying that because I'm a homer or have orange & green glasses on, I've watched a lot of both and Beck is superior. Clemson treats him with kid gloves.

They definitely give him a ton of screen passes and really easy short stuff. He was 61st in yards per attempt and Clemson was 79th in yards per completion last year. It works for them because Clemson was still 12th in total offense and 19th in scoring despite being 40th in yards per play. I don’t want to go as far to say it’s an aberration but it’s not common for a team that’s not generating explosive plays at a high level to score so much.

Beck has the ability execute the offense at a very high level. Cam went big-play hunting too often and I think people may be pleasantly surprised by Beck's game.

Hopefully he gets back to 100% and Mario sings an experienced receiver (or 2) better than everyone we currently have in the room.
If I’m not mistaken. QB’s are taught TOUCHDOWN to CHECKDOWN. So big play hunting is the way to go. If and when it’s there. It also has the U with the first player about to be drafted. In this years NFL draft and he’s a QB.

Mateer was the only 1 thought was the best follow up to Cam. Coming from the same school and system. Also has some mobility and seemed more apt to run than Cam. Now that we have Beck thats who I have to ride with.

Question; Why don’t all teams run systems that make the QB’s look good?
I agree with what you have written, but should UM not run a QB friendly system?
Unless you are saying that the system makes QB’s look good but doesn’t necessarily produce the team results which are, of course, the most important thing.
If we looked at results simply in a vacuum yes absolutely you want to run a QB friendly system. However I suppose that depends what you consider QB friendly. to be friendly usually equates a high percentage throws in large volume. That happens on teams usually that don't have strong running games that aren't very physical etc.

The best thing about Klubnik is that he can run, other than that., definitely overrated as a QB. If he's lucky he may go round 2, but he has career backup/journeyman written all over him. College QB? sure, he has the grit, among other things, to generate some love.

If we're not just talking about transfer guys, I would have to go with Allar.
Nobody cares how good he will or won’t be in the NFL. The question was about this coming year. In college football.

They treat him with kid gloves because they don’t trust him. Beck will be drafted “for sure” ahead of him.

You get it

It’s a layered topic. I’m not saying any criticisms of Beck are off limits because he’s one of the best options

Also not saying Beck is a bum and I just want to wish we had someone else

I’m looking around CFB and then looking ahead to the draft and it’s a big question mark

As it relates to us I don’t see any reason why the playoff standard for Mario should be off the table but others might disagree
Beck,.. Is the Way

I don’t care about the NFL. They aren’t in the NFL. This thread wasn’t about the NFL. My post wasn’t about the NFL. What happens when they leave college doesn’t have anything to do with anything.

And if Klubnik has the ska where he had last year, he’ll have solidified that he’s a better college QB than Beck.

See how this works?
A) idk what ska means
B) No lol. Klubnik has had one good year. Beck had one basically elite year and an average year. If klubnik has a year like this past season he’ll have made himself into a good college qb. If Beck has a year even close to his 23 season it isn’t even close
