I'm a dumb *** *****.

I'm a dumb *** *****.
I don’t want to replace Beck. Once we signed him I said yes this puts playoffs back on the table which seemed lost when Mateer bailedBrother you seem to forget when everyone was jumping on Georgia being so dominant coming into last season I said where his struggles were coming from and where they would struggle last year. Whatta u know, they actually struggled in the ways I thought. So I definitely see his negatives. I also see he's the QB we have. Period. Just that simple. Sometimes we just gotta embrace the options we have instead of wanting to replace everyone with someone else and take off into fairytale land. It's no shot against you brother and I know you didn't even mean anything by it. I'm just all too aware of what some posters on here like to do...
Now back to you & how I'd approach this. These Beck negatives which certainly exist. They exist in a vacuum. It's a far more critical place he was just coming from and he had tons of success (no matter what clowns from such and such place won't credit him for) Just being real the sec while I feel it's nowhere near as good as it's gave credit for, it's from a pure coaching, competition & athletes perspective night and day from what the acc is. He should eat this conference alive even while he's not cam in any way he's more than enough. The most critical aspect is play calling. His capacity (coming off an injury or not) is going to be somewhat more controlled than many would expect. Only so many ways he can hurt us so long as he's able to make his basic reads. Which I don't question his ability to read a defense at all. Keys in that is simply our receivers catching the ball when the opportunity presents itself. Our schedule is far more difficult than it was last season but overall were in a better position to sustain that.
I guess if I do have an ulterior motive for this thread is to make sure we keep that bar extremely high for this season since QB1 is still one of the best options in the countryNot saying this particular thread is ****ting on Beck but CIS Wouldn't be CIS w/o drooling over other teams unproven players while ****ting on our own, common practice here.
I personally think he's the best option for us. yes he did take a step back last year so i understand the cause for concern but he's already proven himself to be able to play at a high level in the right situation. If we can maximize his strengths & get him to resemble the first round #1 projected QB he was prior to the start of last season, we'll be more then fine this year.I guess if I do have an ulterior motive for this thread is to make sure we keep that bar extremely high for this season since QB1 is still one of the best options in the country
Not that people are wrong that we’ve got holes on the squad but the more I look around the country, I see no reason to lower expectations for us
Last year we were a hair away from Poff/EmoryI personally think he's the best option for us. yes he did take a step back last year so i understand the cause for concern but he's already proven himself to be able to play at a high level in the right situation. honestly I read the post as kind of the inverse. I think objectively we all agree there are negative reports in a vacuum about Beck out there. We hear about it and talk about it a lot more for obvious reasons because we are fans but I saw OP as saying ok for all the naysayers, who would you rather have? This is yet another cis special. Let's start dialogue about the many QBs we would rather have opposed to the one we do have who's won multiple sec and national championships... Fml. Gotta love this place.

Good news is I’m now convinced our LBs are gonna be Armstead/Barrow level again with how they’re getting bashed hereI still remember the Emory is better than Arch takes because he got a courtesy invite to the Elite 11.
Spot on I appreciate thathonestly I read the post as kind of the inverse. I think objectively we all agree there are negative reports in a vacuum about Beck out there. I think the responses or lack thereof are somewhat telling. Its easy to poke holes in Beck's game and call out some of his obvious flaws (same way guys did with Cam last year about his fumbling issues and perceived attitude issue) but when you have to come up with a better solution, its crickets. So far I have only seen Arch and Mateer listed. If either were here both would also have question marks.
I for one dont think we could have done better than Beck. I would guess there are roughly 10 qbs drafted each year, I think Beck, even with his injury gets drafted in the later rounds this year. So that means each year there are only roughly 10 teams out of the 136 in college with draftable NFL type QBs, we have 1 and that puts us in contention IMO. Barring some disaster Beck will be drafted this coming year, when is the last time we had 2 qbs drafted in 3-4 years? FFS Miami of Ohio has more QBs drafted in the last 20 years than Miami. Could we have done better than Beck? Possible... could we have done worse than Beck, for sure **** yes.
well, we should know for sure if Nickel will be a viable option pretty quickLast year we were a hair away from Poff/Emory
This year we were a hair away from Emory/Nickel
Whatever we do next year I just hope we lock it up sooner and save all of us the stress
what is everyone’s fascination with Klubnick? I’ve watched him several times, and I don’t see the hype. You’d really rather have Leavitt over Beck? Same with Mateer? For sure - Klubnik, Leavitt, Mateer
Maybe (depends on Beck’s recovery) - Nuss, Arch
In a thread where I’m being accused of bashing our players my love for Luke Nickel cannot be questionedwell, we should know for sure if Nickel will be a viable option pretty quick
This is how I feel about it. **** that's the reality of it, period.I think the responses or lack thereof are somewhat telling. Its easy to poke holes in Beck's game and call out some of his obvious flaws (same way guys did with Cam last year about his fumbling issues and perceived attitude issue) but when you have to come up with a better solution, its crickets. You should look at his numbers. He was a top 5 QB last year.what is everyone’s fascination with Klubnick? I’ve watched him several times, and I don’t see the hype. You’d really rather have Leavitt over Beck? Same with Mateer?
MateerNot a gotcha question just genuinely curious
Opinions on Beck seem to be pretty mixed. I think part of it is just coming back to earth after Cam but also knowing Beck is coming off of a major injury
Perfect world who would you want as Miami’s QB for 2025 over Carson Beck?
I had a tougher time with this question than I thought so figured I’d put it out there
