Daily debate: what QB would you want over Carson Beck?

Not a gotcha question just genuinely curious

Opinions on Beck seem to be pretty mixed. I think part of it is just coming back to earth after Cam but also knowing Beck is coming off of a major injury

Perfect world who would you want as Miami’s QB for 2025 over Carson Beck?

I had a tougher time with this question than I thought so figured I’d put it out there

Id go with John Mateer, since he has 2 years of eligibility left

I’m good with Carson Beck, glad he’s at Miami, love his talent

The national championships were won with him on the sideline. He lost 1 SEC championship game and the backup Stockton won the other. He never won anything as the starter.

Not that it matters to me if you think that, but no that’s not me

I’ve read enough Beck negatives here to be genuinely curious who would be a better option

I can’t think of any myself so I was hoping to hear those that are down on him give some better options

Seems to me between him and Nickel we actually are sitting pretty good at QB compared to the rest of the country

I was wearing a Miami shirt at Dollywood Saturday and these guys from Georgia asked if I was excited about Beck because they said I shouldn't be. I said he's better than what Miami currently had after Ward.

I'm not sure what you are trying to say regarding starting a dialogue. The purpose of the thread was to mention names we would potentially like over Beck. I'm saying Beck is the most proven QB coming back this year. That doesn't necessarily mean he will be the best. Arch is obvious and Mateer is intriguing due to his running ability. Both are somewhat unproven but I think most will say they are going to be good. Beck could also end up being the best. Time will tell.

It’s a layered topic. I’m not saying any criticisms of Beck are off limits because he’s one of the best options

Also not saying Beck is a bum and I just want to wish we had someone else

I’m looking around CFB and then looking ahead to the draft and it’s a big question mark

As it relates to us I don’t see any reason why the playoff standard for Mario should be off the table but others might disagree

Not saying this particular thread is ****ting on Beck but CIS Wouldn't be CIS w/o drooling over other teams unproven players while ****ting on our own, common practice here.
