DAILY DEBATE: Should Francois Mauigoa move to guard?

The one guy that shouldn't move is Rivers at LT.
LT Rivers
LG Cooper/Mauigoa/Kinsler
C Carpenter
RG Mauigoa/Cooper/Kinsler
RT Okunlola/Bell/McCoy
The one guy that shouldn't move is the one guy that HAS actual starting experience at other positions? Make that make sense...

If we had TVD coming back, I’d definitely consider moving FM to guard. TVD a statue and can’t climb the ladder, so you need all-world across the interior.
But with Cam ability to extend plays looking downfield, I think you just figure out who are the best 5 together and go with that.

The unit would be better rounded if we could. Not sure if anyone can currently hold down RT besides him.

A line of.
LT - Rivers
LG - Francis
C - Carpenter
RG - Cooper
RT- Bell ( the unknown)

I really like the sound of that line up That’s a NFL like size wise… and Francis is a problem pulling. But like I said bell is the unknown. I would give that line a look but probably won’t with Florida being the first game

Yeah watching some of Dawsons stuff last year Cohens athleticism made it possible. Mauigoa is better than Cohen and more freakish athleticism too.

More valuable as a lock down RT though but still intriguing if we get in a bind

Only if someone massively stepped up. But if God forbid Cooper goes down and Samson, Kinsler, McCoy, or Bell have shown they’re better suited at RT than gotta trust Mirabal to move Francis inside. I do think Francis' nfl future can be at guard.

If you leave him at RT with Cooper at RG those two guys can really build up a report and comm together. It takes time to get that going. Year 2 you'd hope they've be vastly improved in the 4 coactives as they were young last year.

Rivers at LT to help whoever winds up at LG. He has NFL talent and is an experienced player. Captain type of guy that works hard.

If Carpenter is as good as advertised he'll be fine in the middle. The staff has 2 experienced OL coaches and depth with Okunlola, McCoy. No excuse

I think moving him to LG would give us our best combination but it kinda depends on if he would even want to. In this transfer/NIL age you have to respect a star players preference or risk losing them. Not many tackles would prefer moving inside, especially since guards make less money in the NFL

Whatever helps the team. He'd be a good guard.

Should Rivers move to G? Should Sampson?
