Disastrous ? Nah. A few injuries throws this current roster into a mess. OL, Rb, S, LB, cb and obviously qb. As of right now our cb room is scary healthy.

Disastrous refers to key positions, not just numbers. TVD by himself last year was disastrous.

So the younger guys aren’t looking good at corner or they have the injury bug too? RB is obviously thin and Citizens slow recovery isn’t helping, but that isn’t usually a difficult position to get a decent player.

So it doesn’t sound like George is stepping up. Is Robby too raw to make an impact at Z at any point?

Is Avalon up to snuff as a 3rd safety or is he preparing to leave like rumored before?

I thought we were in good shape at guard. Would tackle and center be issues with injury?

I don’t know that he’s the guy for certain. I think he’s the guy by long-term financial commitment given his contract. I think he’s the guy to upgrade the trenches. I need to see what we do on offense to feel better about them.

I’m not over last year. The roster sucked and yet Manny did better with it and Mario could have too but he chose the offense he wanted not what was intelligent and obvious to even the least technically sound of us on here.

Even in a rebuild, UM should never ever be savaged by MTSU. What a disaster. Mario is way too experienced and highly compensated to make errors like that. Come on.

Nah…he’s got traits but he’s very raw. We need instant help…there will be options in the portal in a few weeks. We just need to push our chips in there. You grab a bonafide #1 and a second guy, and this offense completely changes.

Really like the development with the big uglies, pass pro should be much better. Lee is a monster, Cohen is good. If Cooper takes that jump and Francis can solidify his spot…we have the potential to have as good of an o-line as any we’ve had in the past decade (I know the bar is low, but it’s a strong unit).

The starting Ol “ if healthy“ is an enormous upgrade versus last year.

Wow the basketball board is a lot more fun. And with only 13 scholarship players a roster can be completely overturned in 1 year.

Mauioga is special. It’s hard for you to wrap your head around him starting because we never land these types. They go elsewhere and start as Fr. So I get the concern. Rivers was always viewed as a possible future LT, I posted that back when Manny was here. I’ve heard nothing but positives so far with him.

Rivers likely won't be even an above average LT, but Cohen next to him helps. Jalen being the front runner for LT is a huge improvement from where Miami has been in forever.

With that said, it shows how for down OL had fallen.

I’m bullish on this kid as well.

Not for nothing but how he played when the entire team and coaches seemed like they had thrown in the towel for the season showed me a lot.

Maybe that’s overplaying it a bit but that’s the kind of thing I love to see out of a QB.

definitely rooting for him but when I see some of those practice clips there's a lack of discipline in his reps; base too short and--as a consequence--too upright. The fundamentals.

Great to hear he's progressing and taking to the coaching staff, but he won't reach his potential unless he corrects the little things that will allow him to consistently put the ball where it needs to be.

Pile up ? No , that’s not what I said. Any injuries at the spots I mentioned are catastrophic. Our depth is just bad right now , most teams aren’t this thin. That’s why I continue to say “ currently “

Cohen is going to have a positive knock-on affect for C and LT.

Part of my point is we even have to mention about being surprised Rivers could play at a higher level than what we've seen in LT position in ages.

If we have so much as 1-2 injuries at certain positions, we are totally screwed. The elite teams have solid 2nd stringers and talented 3rd stringers they are normally underclassmen and devoid of reps.

We have 2nd stringers that aren’t P5 players, and walk ons for third strings. Heck we had plenty of starters last year that aren’t P5 guys. That’s the difference, and can’t be solved in 1 off-season. Doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be better, just don’t expect 8-9 wins without TONS of portal help.

If everything falls into place, OL should be much better Y2, but I get where you're coming from. By Y4 we should dominate and have high level depth.

Fair point. I suspect Miami is much closer for 5-7 wins due to injury than a consistent Top 5 team over the past few years.
