but how did Miami play realignment RIGHT by sitting on the sideline
I concur. This thread has been going on for 2 years, with multiple done deals to multiple conferences for Miami and FSU. Today, both teams are still in the ACC. All we know for certain, is that when this ride ends, someone will come running back to the thread to point to their post where they were "right" amidst all the waffling and times they were wrong...

To this question specifically: people have absolutely mocked FSU, then said, we should be move involved, and/or brought suit or joined.

I stick with: if a big nugget re: Miami was afoot... D$ would market a pod around it...

Better question, how did FSU play realignment right by being vocal and spending a ****load of money on legal fees?
They may get a court order allowing them to leave and join the B1G or SEC at a time when those leagues are not at the max. We on the other hand will be left to dominate the Big East, er, um, ACC.......................

Doesn't sound like either of those conferences are admitting anyone anytime soon.............
The B1G will if the applicant can bring lots of TV sets in a State such as Florida (they don't need 2)..........................the SEC may if it means blocking Fox from getting into Florida with all of its TV sets.

The legal fees pay THEMSELVES six months tops into a new conference. The ROI is more than WORTH IT… if you can get out.

we are ****ED if we’re losing sight of getting out of the ACC because of legal fees. We look poor if we’re still using that LINE

At the MOMENT conferences are pretty much on a "forced hold" due to network battles (ESPN / Direct TV / FUBU / Venue Sports Streaming). Once things settle down ... or as soon as a school like FSU / Clemson has a confirmation that they LEAVE WITH RIGHTS ... things will change. Miami just needs to make the CFP and win a game or two ... lock up a top 5 class ... and UM will be in the P2 discussion.

My thinking is, and I could be wrong, but once/if FSU & CU get those rights, the conference would be forced to extend the same rights to all others in the conference, which Miami could take, without all of the upfront legal fees.
