Comparing Miami and FSU

If we can't stop the run, we are ****ed.

I don't really have much respect for their OL. They are much like ours IMO, more hype than substance. Their backs are average. However it's the best FSU WR group in years and O'Leary, despite being a *****, is a pain in the ***. All the athletes in this game on both sides and it's going to come down to the trenches (and maybe turnovers)

FSU's running backs are honestly better then Miami's as a group....

Karlos Williams might be the most dangerous of all between him, Devonta Freeman, and James Wilder Jr. He is 6'1 230 lbs w/ legit track speed, freak athlete..... he may be faster then Duke Johnson.

Devonta Freeman explodes out of the backfield, runs very hard, he can knock off chunks of yards at time.

James Wilder Jr has had a shoulder issue thats bothered him but he's a freak athlete too... gets his pad level lower then anyone i've seen his size EVER, and is very strong.

The one advantage we have over their talent at running back, is how elite our Defense is at hitting and tackling. But they do have the talent to be a legit play action threat so their offense is definitely going to be the biggest test Miami will face all season.

I am not down playing talent,I like ours better. I am not willing to make Winston into some super star until he does it against a good team. A team with equal or more talent that does not go into the game expecting to lose. If he beats Clemson then i will give him due. Johnny M. had to beat Alabama on their field before the hype took off. No one on this board or any, can say this kid will play great when the games on the line and he feels the pressure. I know this he has been running for his life against slow average defenses. Lets don't give him any awards until he is truly tested.

By the way the score of the ACC Championship game last year was Noles 21-15 over Tech. Tech brought back 17 starters and Miami wins by 15 this year. Still believe Tech would play this years FSU defense tough. FSU defense is not close to last years defense with the NFL talent they lost. Last year FSU could get pressure with 4 not this year.

Fair enough and a good response. Im not gonna lump you in with everyone else, but I see FSU like this; they are over rated in the public eye, but very under rated by our fan base. The kid has dominated, which is all he can do against inferior competition. This board was ready to crown Morris as a first round pick this summer, but will find any way to rationalize that Winston isnt all that because he has not played against a good team. That is comical to me because when has Morris played well against a good team? Regardless, regarding the talent of both teams. Al is turning this ship around, our front lines are stacked, albeit they are young, where we lack is depth. FSU has depth and their frontlines stacked. They have studs everywhere, studs that were wanted by everyone across the country. I know we have a good chance to beat them, but a good bit of that is the homer in me, they are a better team and they are at home. I will say that this is the best chance we have had to beat them since our debacle in 2010. That was a perfect example of a more talented team getting owned at home, maybe we return the favor this year.....

Miami's DL > FSU's DL

We've got pass rushers (McCord, AQM, Gilbert)

We've got run stoppers (Porter, Pierre, Renfrow, Luther)

We even have guys that do a bit of both (Chick, Shayon, Kamalu)

FSU has a very good DL but they don't have one or two true pass rushing specialists like they usually do.

Ohhh Lawwddddd
You have been going hard in this thread buddy, keep fighting the good fight.

Trust me, I'm no homer. FSU lost their top 4 DL from last season. They're good, but we're just as good or better. Anyone can see that.

They lost the German and Tank. Jenkins didnt even play so he doesnt count. Also Jernigan was a monster for them and is now in his 3rd year, the year a DT usually makes noise. Plus they have studs in Casher, Edwards and Goldman. True they aren't as good as last year, but the draft said that talent wise nobody was better. Who are our Des outside of Chick that are worth anything. McCord is great but still underweight and purely a situational guy. AQM, beast but a true freshman. Our DTs are still meh, dont kid yourself there.

Miami has proven even against Florida they will get to the passer and punish the QB. I have not seen FSU DE get close to the QB and they sure have not played OT Miami's size or talent. Another point is Winston has not played a team who presses man to man and will take a way the short passes who also will create lots of pressure. FSU left tackle has been beat like a drum all year and no doubt he will against Canes. I also believe the Canes LBrs are big and physical and will tackle much better then what FSU has seen.

Werner, Tank, McCloud, and Dawkins were their starters. Our DTs are grown *** men. Jernigan is probably better than any one guy on our DL but we're pretty deep. They've got studs, we got studs. Pretty even but I'll give Miami a slight nod because of the threat of a pass rush.

Pierre is an excellent 3-4 DE. Porter and Renfrow make a stout NT duo. Robinson is more then capable as Pierre's backup and situation inside pass rusher. Our units work really well together.

Karlos Williams is the X factor. I would take our guys over Wilder/Freeman (though they are good, not hating) but Wiliams is just one of those athletes that is on another level.

Wilder has never done much for me. When we have played them he just was able to overpower our guys, which absolutely will not happen this year. He has never been able to outrun us.

I'm still a little confused why everyone is pointing to the Maryland game but forgetting a dog**** Boston College team giving them all they could handle.

Casher, Edwards, and Goldman are "studs"?

If you consider our guys "meh" and those guys "studs" I have to wonder how much FSU and how much Miami you have watched this year.

I think the offense will perform against FSU. We should have no problem getting points like we did last year against top programs. Coley has us running a much more varied offense that doesn't only rely on the big play to score although we are very much still capable of that.

Winston is the key for FSU in this game. As amazing as he's been all year I don't think he's been tested like he will against us. I've watched a few of his games and he's been phenomenal, but he still makes some noticeable freshman mistakes. He hasn't really paid for the mistakes he's made because of the talent level he's had to face so far, so I like the chances of our defense continuing to force turnovers against FSU.

Would any fan on this board take FSU team position units over the Canes position units? To the poster who said i liked fumbles Oleary over Walford and our other two TEs i was being sarcastic.

I would take every single position unit of FSU over UM
