The most important thing in this game is to get to Winston, if we don't it's going to be a long night. Not sure we can trade TD's with them, I'd bet not. We need our DE's to play the game of their lives and maybe throw in someone with blazing speed to blitz once in a while. We need to get after Winston something fierce, we do that and we can win.
Agreed. I think it will depend largely on how well we defend their running game with our wide nine front personnel. The way McCord and AQM sprint off the edges in that wide nine alignment we run the pressure will be there to cause havoc. The down side to that alignment is that it provides natural running lanes between the tackles. However, since coach D plays a lot of single high safety looks, getting that eighth defender in the box would help negate those inside runs. In addition, we would be essentially running a 4-4 defense, so there should be some robber coverage looks to help control the middle of the field routes as well as keep an eye on Winston taking off to avoid the outside pressure. Our corners need to be on their game. Showing a pre snap technique and actually playing another is where the money is going to be made. We've got to give Winston different stuff to digest post snap. Hopefully with the disguising going on in the secondary and that longated throwing motion he has the pressure will get home. But it all starts by stuffing their ground game.
