Collier decommits from Illinois

Collier with Brini gives us two physical , long cb's . Which is perfect for this system , by the time a wr gets off a jam the dL or blitz will be there. They also tackle well, and aren't afraid of contact.

Hopefully we can land those guys , Bandy with a juco and a transfer.

I wouldn't call Brini physical right now and that is the hold up with Miami. That's hurting him

This kind of stuff gets thrown around "not physical enough" and becomes internet gospel if you repeat it enough.

Can you all be more specific? Does he not like tackling supporting the run? Is he not competitive on the field? etc.

What makes a long CB effective is their hands and toughness at the LOS and Brini still tries to play finesse and has does no disrupt at the LOS, use his body to make plays in the football, lets receivers attack the football through him instead of using his frame to his advantage.

The way he plays, being 6'2 is a disadvantage, he plays like he's 5'10. If he learns to play like he's 6'2, he can be really good. I think it's something easy to teach and they'll thrive. However I've also heard about him having toughness and durability concerns, that's an issue because it's mental and more difficult to fix.

Thanks. The first part of your post sounds like a teachable/technique issue. What I was getting at was the second part of your post - is he not a competitive guy? That's my bottom line. Technique can be fixed, "durability issues" is a non-issue to me but competitiveness/toughness? That's something else entirely and besides, what is that based on? I just am skeptical when these kinds of hard-to-measure intangible evaluations start getting bandied about the board as gospel.

We've had plenty kids that played at UM that: have had durability issues in HS who succeeded, loved to initiate contact even though they were slight (who sucked), guys who supposedly lack toughness but turn the corner and put ncie careers together, etc.

I really like the kids toughness. Though a skinny kid, he attacks the run. Lots of kids do not do that. He sticks his nose in there. I also like that he plays qb, and runs the ball a lot. That to me shows another level of his toughness. He is a talented football player. There are lots of kids that are talented, especially in the 7vy scene, and it just doesn't translate to them being good football players.

Collier is a take for this class and no matter whos is coming next year. You never know what can happen the Bagmen arent really on the 2018 guys yet give it a little bit. Bama is already poaching Jobe

It's easy to throw out the term bagman to excuse losses on the trail. It's not a coincidence that our recruiting momentum has died in the midst of a three-game losing streak in which Richt's offense looks just as hapless as Golden's defense was.

When there appears to be a distinct possibility we'll be trying to flip a Paul Williams commit in what should be the first-year honeymoon phase of Richt's recruiting, there's already a serious problem on our hands that has little or nothing to do with bagmen. Especially at a position where there's so much early playing time available.

Yeah, I hate the whole let's not take too many corners this class because of the abundant amount of corners/safeties in 2018. As has been mentioned with Jobe, he looks like he's already gone to Bama. We need depth, otherwise, we run into the issue we have now where we just don't have bodies. Bring in quality talent, but don't shun it away because Collier's not a high 4-star like everyone's coveting. I like Collier based on his film alone. Worse case scenario is he's a decent backup that provides depth. No sense in not taking enough corners and we fail miserably next recruiting cycle.

It's just amazing that at other programs that the first couple of years in a coach's tenure they experience a boom in recruiting. Here, we have the same problems.

This kid is definitely a take I actually like him more than davis

I like a lot of cb's more than Davis lol

Don't know why Geo negged you on that. I remember not too many people were upset when Davis picked the gaytes over us. I know I wasn't.

Just an opinion. When I agree, I plus up. I disagree.

Not saying you guys in general but I saw opinions of Shawn change fast in here after it became clear he wasn't coming. Similar to Brini when he chose UGA a few months back.

Shawn is one of the best in state regardless of being at corner or safety.

Would love to flip Davis from UF. I think he can play day 1 @UM

Not Henderson and he needs at least a year in the weight room.[/

Nike camp Henderson was 6-1 and 175 and in person looks rather frail. While he did run a Combine 4.35 40 but has not show any film this year of him palying corner.

This Norland 2017 kid about the same size 6-1/175 is a hard tackler, quite physical can play press coverage and has long speed.

Looks pvssy to me. And that can't be fixed.

We better hope to **** we get a solid veteran off the waiver wire for 2017 because without Corn that unit looks like putrefaction. Or pray that a dude like Jeff James is athletic enough to be a big physical corner.

Sobering slap of reality.

I've been consistent on Davis months ago . I never thought he was that good , never got the hype. I'm sure it's in one of his threads . I preferred Brini , even when it looked liked we had no chance and he was w Uga commit. I guess me liking Marco more than most of the local 17 guys wouldn't make sense . Since he's a Gator , but I do.

I'm the guy who called Tracy Howard overrated when he committed , and rustled jimmies on multiple cane sites. I liked M Alexander a lot more .

I judge on what I see , not if a guy is committed or not.

Davis is the truth

Would make a day 1 impact next yr
