Exactly what I said the other day in regards to Collier. Had Golden taken 1 plan B kid a year at CB, we'd have good solid depth. Only one he got was Redwine. Henley wasn't even a plan B type. I'd almost put Mayes in the plan B category, I think he's kinda coming along now with a decent coach.

Those under the radar guys are going to be even more important with the way Rumph is coaching. I have faith in him getting them developed

Sad thing is that Mayes wasn't a Plan Z guy like he should have been. He was a Plan A guy who they took over Quincy Wilson.

iirc people weren't too happy about that either. I remember a large contingent couldn't figure out why Golden wanted Quincy strictly as a safety - granted, I think he would've been great at any position.

Central Michigan* A mix-up like that at a bar in mid-Michigan might get a knife pulled on you lol. They do not like each other.
 
So some of you are down on this kid because of the position coach he was committed to? Does that make him not a take to you? We need corners badly, I'd take him now unless he is a kid that you're confident would commit later down the road while you look into bigger prospects. Don't think we are in a position to do that though.

I would think that Lovie Smith knows what talent looks like seeing as he was an NFL head coach. Who cares about PAUL williams, respect Lovie Smiths eval on the this.
 
Can Williams claim he helped guys like Howard, Gunter, Burns, Bush, and Elder (next year) get to the league?

Well, Howard went from a 5* to undrafted, Gunter was also undrafted. Burns was taken that high mostly for physical attributes and Bush lost more draft stocks after every season he was here.

Elder is probably the only one Williams can really say he helped him, and he might not even get drafted in the first 2 days!

Any coach would've "helped" them get to the league!

Elder I could see going in the 4th round. And his play has gone up a whole another level this season. But yeah, Paul Williams got handed quite a lot of talent and squandered it.

Elder with a good 40 might end up in the 2nd. He'll interview well, nice vert, plus um pedigree
