College Football Playoffs - the tourney seeding and bowl games

You do realize that recruiting CHANGES as soon as you are in the SEC and to a lesser degree in the Big 10 (but still lights out over the difficulty of recruiting in the lowly ACC).?
You're right.....but I think his point is if you're already outrecruiting the rest of the ACC and can't win it, who cares?

I think I’m in the minority but I think Psu rolls SMU. They just faced a much better version of them in Oregon. As long as Allar doesn’t crap the bed Psu wins easy and then destroys Boise as well. That’s painful to type but I’m with Saban I think this time of year the bigger physical teams are going to start shining. All these teams are fast.
I don’t think so personally

Eww. The Tax Slayer bowl seems way better.
This is simple guys the pop tarts bowl has the first pick of the ACC teams In a year where the orange bowl is part of the playoff.

They are not passing on Miami the best team in the acc not in the playoffs.

Hurricanes vs Cyclones. The Meteorologist Bowl. Eh, okay.

Come see how Miami's backups play against Iowa State's starters. Can't wait.

Preseason rankings are such utter trash and yet they matter so ******* much it’s disgusting
I'll do the math again for this year.
It's about a 50% hit rate of how many pre-season ranked teams are ranked at the end of the year.
If you take out the top 5 or 6 usual suspects, the hit rate for the top 6-25 is around 30%.

It's been this way for years....so why bother with them at all?

What does that have to do with winning this “weak” conference?

We aren’t competing with Texas. We are competing with UVA, Syracuse, GT and Pitt. We recruit worlds better than all of them. Yet, we stumble against them all the time and can’t win the conference.

I’m not in a rush to a new conference to do the same
Staying in the ACC will be a slow death.

Time for Mario to at least win a freaking bowl game.

You'd rather stay in the ACC than go to the Big 10?
No, if you get the invite, you take the invite.

I was interpreting what a prior poster had meant when he said "why? We can't even win the ACC" meaning if we're already recruiting better than everyone in the ACC and can't win it, why go to the B1G or SEC and expect a different result? He has a point in the short-term, but he's just frustrated and not thinking of the long term success of the school.

That being said, my own view is college football is a cluster****, always has been a cluster**** in one way or another, and is somehow getting worse. Mostly due to conferences not working together. They want to NFL-ize the game, which is actually a good idea IMO, but you can't do it without a system that is as objective as possible in selecting its playoff slots.

The whole thing doesnt make any sense nor is there any consistency AND the commitee just showed themsleves to being influenced by outside noise by now all of a sudden putting in SMU instead of Alabama

First off, its literally as if Ohio St never lost to Michigan. They lost a week ago, at home, as a 20 point favorite yet like always the committee ( through outside influence from Ohio St) gifts them a home game.

Penn St has no business bring a 5. Their biggest win is Illinois, yet not only do they get a 5 seed, they get SMU followed by Boise St.

Indiana has no business being in the playoff

The Big Ten literally just the benefit of every scenario for absolutely no reason
