Coach Golden has informed staff he will be staying at Miami

That's because half the people on here act like little girls. Watch him close with a top 5 class, get Valentine back and keep Kaaya.

I'll be rooting against that fat fck harder than I did Shannvo. Shannvo was a dope, but at least he was loyal. This fat fck openly courted Ped State, got rejected and then came back here expecting a ticker tape parade. Fck him to death! It's a hopeless fcking situation at UM right now.

This is like the time Carmen Electra caught Rodman in bed with some chick, and Rodman said, "there's no one here" when the girl was right there next to him.

LOL some of you are nuts. Calling out Golden for not being loyal even though he didn't take the PSU job then openly hoping your team fails so the coach does? How is Golden the unloyal one?

Nah. It's diarrhea lappers like you who are focused on recruiting titles because we can't do anything on the field. This it's just another area where Shannon kicked Al's fat ***. Shannon actually won a recruiting title in 2008 instead of finishing 10th like your hero will this year. How'd that work out for UM?

OMG....he didn't get rejected! ****.... Just b/c you are angry doesn't mean you are correct.

Everyone i know at Penn State was telling me he was the top guy.

Everyone I know at PSU is telling me the same thing, and I am a grad and have friends connected with the program. TIFWIW.

I just can't wrap my head around what some of you people see in this guy that is encouraging enough to be excited he's coming back. He has never, literally NEVER had a win in his entire career that would lead you to think he is a good football coach. We have been consistently embarrassed by our rivals and he lost to ****ing Duke. The guy is a loser, that is not an opinion that is a fact. He declined games against LSU, now he wants the Louisville game rescheduled. He just doesn't have what it takes, I have seen enough.

Bad argument

Nick Saban's first 5 years at MSU:
6–5–1
6–6
7–5
6-6
10-2

I'm not apologizing for AG, but he took over a program that was down in the dumps -- probably something similar to MSU in the late 90's. I'm just as frustrated as everyone else, but we need to take a little step back from the edge. We have been improving every year. This class is going to be incredibly better than anything we've seen in a very long time.

Our biggest enemy right now is not the coach -- it's time.

Was Al Golden a highly regarded NFL coordinator under a HOF coach? Saban was. Stop telling me about records as if everything is in a vacuum.

You must not be familiar with Saban's career. Never coached in the NFL until after his first HC tenure, which was at MSU. I used Saban because he is the gold standard, isn't he? He represents where we want to be.

I couldn't agree more PSU. Everyone that's been on these boards for any amount of time knows how the meltdowns ensue and the over reactions commence typically before having all of the "real" information. Sure there are insiders with theories and supposed connections but the facts are, unless you are Golden, his wife or any of some 10 other people connected to UM or Penn State, you don't know shiat.

Therefore we've already become judge, jury and executioner before knowing anything. We do know that Golden can recruit and is a pretty good CEO. We also know that he needs much better game day/ X & O coordinators or we may not get over the hump even with back to back to back top 5 recruiting classes.

I'm sure the mob mentality around here will want to neg me for this. Who the fvck cares! Neg to Bolivia.

It's funny reading many of you write about how he tried to slither away in the night and that PSU said thanks but not thanks......you have no clue. The PSU job was his if he wanted it. Trust me on that. You can speculate all you want just b/c you are p!ssed and want to justify his reason for staying, but you have no insight to the situation or process.

For anyone here to say he's a traitor for interviewing, i COMPLETELY disagree. He's a NJ native, a PSU grad and all his roots are in the Northeast. That was his home and dream job for many many years. Any one of us would at least listen about a job offer from our dream job unless we were 100% happy with our current job, which 99% of the population is not. Just b/c he didn't contact every single one of you every hour for an update is ridiculous. I would rather him stay quiet and not do the whole "i'm not going anywhere" thing like Saban until he was certain. Now we can move forward. First order of business, keep this recruiting class in tact and properly evaluate your staff and schemes. That is the only thing we can really criticize him for at the moment. That defense was BAD. That scheme is terrible.

A good CEO my ***. You call him a good CEO and then argue that we may never get back to big-time winning because he needs better coordinators. WTF is he waiting for? I understand Coley not being canned (recruiting), but the DC has NO redeeming value. None. A good CEO would have fixed this last week. Maybe you can call him a good spokesperson because he uses the coaches equivalent of BS corporate buzzwords. A good CEO wouldn't tolerate managers that aren't getting it done. A good CEO would see that after two years, kids are still getting lost on defense. A good CEO would see that giving up 500 yards to everyone with a pulse is no recipe for winning. A good CEO would fire this underperforming manager and not think twice.

Golden is NOT a good CEO.

Next year was aloss regardless whos the coach fsu has elite players with the best qb inCFb.

#DeserveMediocrity

I feel u but until we lock down the best sfla players yearly this is what UM will be. Its not like 10 years ago the services r spot on n this y u see a schooll ike fsu reep the benefits of today. 20 years ago that 5 star kid chose fsu n was abust. UM knew who was good back then now the whole world knows n fsu has takin advantage of it. If we cant outrecruit them we will always be where we r now no matter whos coach.

These services are not spot on....far from it. Some of the guys doing the evaluations have no coaching and/or playing experience and don't have a clue what they are looking at....they are just writers. I have a friend who writes for some websites, even had some things on bleacher report, and while he's knowleable about players, stats, etc he knows little about scheme, technique, and the other minute details like hand placement, drop step, LB keys, etc that separates kids who are good in HS b/c of pure size or athletic ability vs those who are good b/c they are REALLY good. Every year you see 4-5 star busts and 2-3 star kids blow up. That will always be the case since some kids peak early while others are late bloomers. Then there's always those kids who don't get seen in high school b/c their teams are bad and/or they don't play in the right system....that's where camps are big. It's also about player development and coaching in college. While the internet, services like scout/rivals/24x7 and others have helped these non-Miami schools become aware of some of the lesser known players, the elite players have always been known by everyone.

Fsu is the main school blocking Um from becoming great because they r getting the elite guys we need like ***** 6 cook etc. We beat them on the trail we beatt hem on the field.

None of those 3 guys have done anything at FSU, so no, they are not the reason we are not great and the reason FSU is. FSU is great because of 2 reasons:

1. They cherry pick talent across the country, North Florida (Jernigan), Central Florida (PJ Williams, Kenny Shaw, Wilder, Karlos Williams), South Florida (Freeman, Joyner, Hart, Benjamin, O'Leary, Greene - originally from Georgia), Alabama (Winston, Chris Casher), Georgia (Cam Erving, Tre Jackson, Terrance Smith), Tennesse (Jalen Ramsey), Washington DC (Eddie Goldman), Maryland (Ronald Darby), NJ (Josue Matias)....the list goes on and on. Oh, and throw in a few stud Legacy kids like Mario Williams Jr and Christian Jones. They are not just recruiting their home area in Florida and South Florida, just like Miami should NOT only recruit So Florida. Yes, pick the guys you want and need from So Florida but sprinkle in some studs from elsewhere.

And just a point to the So Florida kids there, Miami didn't recruit Freeman or Hart. If they had, i think Miami lands both. Benjamin i heard we did and also that we backed off b/c of grades so who knows. We definitely lost out on Joyner, O'Leary and Greene.

2. Coaches....Jimbo runs a very good offense and he hired Jeremy Pruitt, an up and coming young coordinator, to run an attacking defense. They also have great recruiters in Brewster, Haggins and Dawsey. Coley recruited a LOT of the talent they have there right now. Oh, and FSU was able to recruit against Miami with the sanctions before....year 1 without the sanctions and Miami is right there with FSU.

Just posted on Scout: http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=157&f=1395&t=12551341

...by someone very close to Kelly Hanna (Al's wife) family. Kelly's parents moved down to Florida this past year to be closer to her and to get away from the cold weather. Al was in interested in the Penn State job but it was non-starter from the beginning because of this situation.

These are people who live in Lock Haven area and are close the Hanna's. They were never close on any deal and it was 100% a family decision.

Not that if ******* matters. Just passing it along

As I said, Munchak getting fired ****ed us real bad.

Golden is a fraud and PSU was our only hope.

When it happened, Medley posted that it felt like the Titans were doing him (or someone) a favor by firing him. After seeing Chris Mortensen's report on this, I totally agree. The timing was too suspect and Munchak's performance in Tennessee wasn't really fireable.

I don't follow the NFL much, but I did read that Munchak was told by his GM that he could keep his job if he fired folks from his staff.
At that point, he probably saw the writing was on the wall and he it was only a matter of time before he would get fired as well, be it next
season,whatever.
At that point, someone from PSU probably reached out to him which, I suspect, led to Munchak asking Tennessee to fire him.
Tennessee gets to look for their new HC and possibly not have to pay Munchak if/when he gets the PSU gig, and Munchak gets to return
home and gets at least 4-5 years of relatively little pressure (of getting canned).

ALso, Munchak played in (no-pun intended) Penn State's Golden era.
He won a national championship in 1982.
He was teammates with Matt Millen, Todd Blackledge and other former players who remain involved with the program,
and who follow college football....I'm guessing those guys like Al Golden the person, but probably realize he is not a good
coach for their alma-mater.
In summary, the timing of that firing was not coincidental at all.
Easy to connect the dots here, IMO.

Munchak actually reached out to Penn State when O'Brien was looking to leave.....along with Schiano and Franklin, although Schiano denied it b/c he still had a job with Tampa at the time.

F*%K that. thats just as bad as those rooting for golden to stay ahead of UM interests, not because they thought he was the best coach. Maybe even worse.

The overreaction is incredible. You all are letting Rivals.com F with your minds/emotions.

We are in a much better position talent wise, coaching wise, organization wise than we were three years ago. We've got a great class coming in. If no one remembers how bad our roster was that Randy left us coupled with the impact of Nevingate, i don't know what to say. You can't fault Al for that.

There is a lot of room for improvement. Al needs to make the proper coaching decisions to improve our game day preparation and player development. I think he will, he isn't dumb and isn't checked out.

This process is going to take 5 years (took Butch 6). People wanted to fire Butch after year 2 and 3 as well.

Anyone who thinks Golden wasn't PSU's first choice is hopeless. There is a reason he was the first one they talked to. There is a reason they all flew to HIM, to Miami, before they got into it with anyone. I know it's cool to act tough and be negative here, but give me a break.

Act like you've been here before.

Disagree...I'm rooting for the best interest of the program. If that's the ONLY way we can get rid of this ******* defensive scheme then that's the right thing to root for.

Being a robotic, Don Bailey Jr apologetic disciple is 10 times worse.

Time to boycott Miami football until the Golden regime is ousted.

It's fans like you who make reading this site unbearable at times. I mean for christ's sake the miami football games are practically boycotted as it is. That'll really show the recruits how much we truly support their commitment. Once all this simmers down and Al (in my opinion) is obligated to make some staff adjustments and such, half of ya'll will be back on Al's D like you were 2 months ago.

The only adjustment that is acceptable at this point is to fire Onfrio and switch back to a 4-3.

Otherwise that fat ******* can go **** himself to ****.
