Chippy Locker Room

Lewis was never that explosive to begin with. Don't let the injury fool you. Saw the kid many times in high school. He's a role player here, nothing more. The injury just makes it even worse.

this, people keep acting like Lewis was some elite WR, he only avg 9.7 a catch before the injury. I liked his quickness in the slot tho, I hope he can get that back

You know where this starts??

Right here on the recruiting board when we hear how great these players are or are going to be.

Personally I never said anything about the kid being elite, but he showed flashes of big potential. The kid was making big plays when we needed them. Guys don't have to be a superfreak athlete to be a solid player.

Yea he was never explosive... He was a bit shifty but that's it... He was a possession wide out like Herb Waters...

malcom lewis comments are moot..he operates over the middle, thats where he will make his living.. stephen morris refuses to throw over the middle, Malcom will show u what kind of player he is next year with a new QB.. we need touches of other skill players to go up.. to much of a focus on hurns and coley.. need to use the entire field and let playmakers make plays

i liked malcom lewis a lot before his injury, but he now a gimp and probably will be for a long time. it seems he cannot play football at a high level anymore. his getting playing time indicates the lack of depth we have at WR.

I don't understand this "before the injury" talk. What did he do besides score on a screen against Boston College?

Some of you guys set these kids up for fan disappointment by anointing them before they hit the field. You got people who have never even seen him play live talking about how he's gonna be the next coming.

U r right bro. I think we are all so desperate for something positive outta this program. It's been like 10 yrs bro. Such crappy football after such greatness. The 50% of posters on this site that are actually Cane fans r all probably guilty of crowning players n coaches too soon. I'm guilty of it. By the way I still think Al is the man to fix it but he will have to be able to self evaluate and admit something isn't working n be willing to change it. I think he is too smart not to but I'm not as confident as I used to be.

chippy locker room must be code words for they played scrabble and ate pizza after the game

No way, they ate humus and pita bread while discussing "To Kill A Mockingbird" as Shalala creamed her pants and patted herself on the back for a job well done in educating impoverished youth.

8 Catches for 73 yards in under 4 games as a true freshman. He earned PT before Herb, Lockhart, Jones, and Carter so its reasonable to believe that he was our best freshman WR last year. I'm not saying what he would or wouldn't be without the injury, but its not a crazy thought that he was going to be a large part of our offense last year and this year without the injury. It was a very significant injury that isn't easy to come back from. Certainly not "crowning" him, but he seemed to do enough in his true frosh year to garner some excitement on his potential, imo.

What the **** is going on in this thread?

Malcom Lewis had offers from Bama, LSU, the Big 3, USCe, and OSU.

Well I certainly remember the hysteria about Lewis on the recruiting board. Now he's a JAG. Fascinating stuff n Cane World as usual.

Been saying he was nothing special. You've never heard anything different from me. Coached against the kid for years. He couldn't do anything against my kids for crying out loud.

Agreed. Malcom had that horrific injury in only his second game of his collegiate career. The type of injury that forces you to go to the other room so you don't have to see it. People with more than half a brain knew it would take him quite a long time to get back to being 100%. I think he's fine as a receiver. Those that are calling him a JAG and overrated are idiots themselves. Go ahead and neg now, not one **** will be given.

Yeah, the guys who HAVE SEEN HIM LIVE IN HIGH SCHOOL are idiots for calling him slightly overrated by our fans, but the people who anointed him without seeing **** are the geniuses.

Yeah guy.
