You can't judge NFL potential for recent UM players by what they do here. (See Sam Shields, McGee and others).
Shields should have moved and stayed at cornerback when he arrived at Miami. He had a very good senior season. The dude had NFL speed. Brandon McGee can run as well and he had a productive senior season considering Miami could generate no pass rush in 2012. DVD has the fastest kid coming out of the combine. If you go back, Jon Beason couldn't stay healthy but had a very good junior season. Sharpton is another kid who had a very good season in 2009. Hardly surprising these kids made rosters. It also took them a few years to get it going.

Sometimes our fanbase gets caught up with bashing the players that they don't realize that the players they point out as having productive NFL careers were actually productive here... It just took them a while... Shields would be a better corner to this day if he made the switch earlier in his career... I thought McGee was a loss cause and I didn't like his signing... I felt he was offered a scholly because he was fast... He didn't much as a hs player... Well the kid proved me wrong and improved his senior year... Sharpton showed out as a senior as well... The guys were productive here but it took them a little bit longer...
