Changes Are Coming

Jim Leavitt would be a perfect fit. imho Excellent recruiter with Florida recruiting relationships. It would be the perfect homecoming and he's running the same thing (LB's) in S.F. right now. The guys a ******* BEAST! I would take him tomorrow over anyone we could afford and he's a Florida boy.

And he could help Barrow with the LBs

And he could choke a bytch out if they get sideways with him.

A season too late imo

And it doesn't matter who the DC is as long as Golden has his hands on the defense. This scheme is his baby
People keep saying this but if Golden comes to the realization that D'Onofrio needs to go perhaps it is an indication that he also realizes a fresh approach is needed on defense. There's also the possibility that Dorito is simply a ****** coach. I mean these kids can't even tackle.

Looking at Bradley's record. He produced some elite defenses. I think he would be an exceptional hire.

Bradley was named Penn State’s Defensive Coordinator in 2000 and his defenses quickly became known for their creativity and “bend-don’t-break” style. For much of the early 2000s Penn State’s defenses were at the mercy of an anemic offense on the other side of the ball. However, they continued to exhibit great talent and produced outstanding results.

Um, no thanks...next?

It's clear Barrow has to be kept on staff, in some capacity, for recruiting purposes. But it doesn't mean he HAS to be responsible for the linebackers.

And herein lies the quandry of putting together a college staff. Balancing recruiters with teachers. Barrow clearly is not the latter.

I'm almost positive D'onofrio is helping with the backers

Someone explain to me how for the love of God we had 2 deep safeties in a goal line situation yesterday.

And while you're at it please explain to me why our outside linebackers are being asked to continually flex out into space to cover opposing slot receivers.

Dorito realizes this isn't soccer and you get more than 3 subs right?
Cause Dorito is a *****. Chicken **** coaching.

Barrow can't teach this ***** defense. The problem is with the philosophy and scheme.

I told you mofos, certain teams have certain traditions. This passive *** defense is not Miami style. We do not have the talent but let us losing attackng and hitting the **** outa people. I have no idea what scheme we are using btw

Neither do 90% of the people criticizing it, Citizen Porster.

Neither do over 90% of the players attempting to play in it.

Nor do 100% of the coaches implementing it!

I've wondered how good Mike is as coach myself, but he has to stay for recruiting I think. Regardless, he is the least of our coaching problems. Heck, I love Al as a HC but even he can't coach ST worth a crap. We need some hard core teaching coaches here that know what to do with kids once all our recruiters get them in.

Actually, we ran a passive defense when we started our championship run under Schnellenberger. We ran a gap control 5-2 until JJ took over. Our defense was very good. We just executed it very well. I don't know what's going on with this ****. I think we just are feeling the effects of some very poor recruiting years.

That is what I thought. Just don't remember so much space behind the dline and between cbs and WR. It was good enough to hold Cornhuskers to 30 in the NC game. They would score 150 on today's version. But Schnellenberger coached the Fearsome Foursome at the Rams and Joe Willie at Bama and OC of undefeated 73' Fins so he knew a little about both sides of the ball. JJ's 4-3 didn't do well that first year either -- but if got better, boy did it get better. This one, not at all.

Coach D is in charge of the LBs. Barrow just has the title of LB coach and special teams(which golden actually coaches). He's mostly a figure. It's been discussed in the past.

We have lost the team defense, they don't believe the Horrible scheme. Coach no D has got to go for us to move forward.

Barrow's recruiting prowess is being overplayed. Of course he is important, but gimme a break.

Everyone involved with the defense, besides Williams, should be sent packing.
