CB Recruiting

That would give us 6 DBs. Or do you think one of our current commits won't be in this class? I know we'll likely take 25+ in this class, but I'm still wondering about numbers. I've heard people say we're taking 6 DL, 4 LBs. Add in 6 DBs and that's 16 players just on defense.

BTW, what's the story on Clarke?

Maybe Washington if he's not healthy/impressive. I think the numbers will work itself out though either way. Especially if we win.

For whatever reason there has been problems getting the elite DTs, LBs, and DBs here. You would think with the success of the defense and the style of it would have more guys wanting to play in it.

DT? Nesta in '18, the two NY kids in '19 -- we've done pretty well there lately and our depth chart looks solid. LB I agree, but it looks like we'll have a solid class this year.

With DB, people complain because there have been a bunch of huge talents that have spurned us lately. But, the thing is, there's generally so much DB talent in S. Florida, that you can miss the top guys and still have an excellent class.

I said elite. The ny DTs are very good prospects but they weren't elite.

Looks like they cooked on Pouncey and Kendall Dennis is trending to Auburn. I also think Dennis was lower on their board. Just not a lot out there. Lawrence was their top guy and he decided to stay home.
That's another thing that completely mystifies me. This interest in Auburn. I can understand if you live in Alabama but for a Florida kid to be geeked over going to Auburn I don't get at all. WTF is in that town anyway? The education sucks. The town sucks. The team doesn't consistently win. What could Kendall Dennis possibly see in Auburn? That they are in the SEC? That's the only thing I can see they have going for them. I don't get snubbing UM for Auburn. Makes zero sense to me.

Let me explain something to you, when recruiting high school players the idea is to find players that project well and that is exactly what Manny is doing. In terms of athlecticism the 2 DTs from NY are probably one of the most athletic DTs in the country that hold there weight very well. Now you might not get the most polished guy when it comes to technique, but who cares that is the reason most kids are going to college, to get developed. Manny is looking for high ceiling prospects and that is exactly what he is doing on the DL. This idea that 3 stars can't be elite players is ridiculous, plenty of high quality recruits around the whole nation and it is Manny's job to find them and that is what he is doing.

They were athletic but not the most athletic. South carolina signed the #1 DT last cycle and he was around 295 and ran a 4.7 40. There are a few more guys out there that were just as athletic if not more. Blissett did have a elite shuttle time for a guy thats 260-270.

1. Not many great cbs this cycle that’s realistic gets for Miami outside a handful.

2. Depending on who we land at safety, Francois is more than capable of staying at corner if need be.

3. Juco cb Brian George seems like a **** good option imo.
Regarding your first point, the following is what literally infuriates me. Its not realistic for us yet Willie Tagfart and his dumpster fire at FSU have commitments from 2 4 stars in local Miami kid Jalen Harrell and Demorie Tate from Orlando. So it's unrealistic for us after we just fielded the No1 pass defense in the nation to go along with the No2 defense overall and No1 in many other categories but its not unrealistic for that buffoon up in Tally and his **** show of a program? Just unreal.

a few more guys, out of all the players out there there are only a few more guys more athletic, ur just proving my point. I did say they were some of the most athletic DTs that cycle not the most athletic. And you must not have seen that video of Jared Harrison Hunte windmilling, I can tell you right now that there are not many DTs who can get up like him.

And that was good but I'm talking this year. I'm not downing the staff. I just dont get why kids are not more interested in us.
and 2 years ago we pulled in 3 4* CBs...sure, Frierson is at Striker now, but Blades, Frierson, and Ivey were consensus 4 star players.

A while back, a kid from here got a new Vette to go to Auburn. And daddy didn't get it for him.

But somebody's daddy did!

Yes I am very much aware of that and let me again say that I am not ripping the staff. It just amazes me how a program like FSU which is in complete disarray and has a clown as the head coach has 2 4* CBs(one of them from Miami) committed to him and his **** program yet nobody of note seems to be liking us thus far this cycle. It's very strange to me. The whole " this is a down year for CBs" excuse doesn't pass the sniff test either. There is always talent to be had and they do not need to be from South Florida. The U is a national brand.

I get the whole bag game and Auburn most definitely has no shortage of alumni friends of the program. It just seems that there must be something more to it since they aren't the only ones who play the bag game.

The "Rumph can't recruit" narrative is dead. Y'all set the bar with Stubblefield.
