This is what I see the rest of the ACC thinking about us if we bring in Beck.

This is what happens when you go “all in” on Mateer and lose out. The sad part is that it wasn’t as close as we were led to believe, as no visit was even granted to hear out the pitch in person.

I knew the portal qb class this year was weak, but to me, we should have never been all in on Mateer. I’m not sure what the issue was on Miami’s side regarding Mendoza, but there were other options at the beginning.

At the very least, Mario is keeping his word about giving Emory an honest chance at starting spot as his main competition will be a guy coming off a serious injury - I think its 50/50 if Beck is able to play effectively this year. I know Purdy did it in the same span, but I think we can all agree that Purdy is a real professional and focused on his rehab 100 percent. Do we have that same level of confidence with Beck??? Would you all be surprised if Beck had a “setback” in rehab that kept him out until the middle of the season??

They want this Emory guy who needs 33 passing attempts to get to 150 yards passing or a guy who completes 8 passes in a game

Not sure why people are upset. Beck would be a huge addition and he’d immediately be the 2nd best qb to play her in the last 2 decades. His numbers were more than solid even with Georgia nearly leading the nation in dropped passes, combine him with our run game and as long as our young receivers are ready, the O would be humming next year. Not as good or efficient as this year, but definitely a top 15 offense easily

I wouldn't be upset, its not my money. He would upgrade the room but he doesn't strike me as a guy that loves football. He did not live up to the billing coming into this year and it strikes me as someone that doesn't prepare the way a supposed NFL QB should. He has too much bad tape from this year. It would be nice to see Dawson develop a QB, not saying that guy is on the roster but **** let them compete in Spring. Spend money on the defense this early portal. S&C through the winter and see where you stand come spring. just my 2 cents, I will be rooting for them either way
