Literally all signs point to Miami. Miami is desperate for a qb. He's desperate to fix his draft stock. Miami has a great OL, solid rbs, young rising wrs, and a wide open offense that just moves cam to possibly #1 overall from possibly a day 2 pick before.

Ignoring all of the context around the team he played with, in what world were Mateer’s stats not as good as Beck’s? You just talking passing yards and touchdowns and ignoring him rushing for almost 1k and another 15 touchdowns?

Mateer had good WR's and a decent Offensive line. If competition doesn't matter, why not go get the most prolific passer in the FCS?

Mateer played 1 full season vs mountain west teams and his stats weren't as good as Beck's worst year playing the best defenses in the country.

It seems like there are a lot of people trying really hard to prove that he sucks. Comparing him to tvd is the most ridiculous sht I’ve ever seen. I’ve seen all of tvd’s home games. Dude was throwing to wide open db’s his last season here.

Beck is gonna have a ton of time to throw.
Mendoza would’ve been another great get imo for the same reason.
Beck has more experience against better comp.

Washington State did not have a P5 roster. Half the ******* team left after last year and they were essentially a MW team.

And anyone saying Beck is better than Mateer is going to do nothing but toss out raw stats or something about the competition because they **** sure haven’t watched them play. It’s the same **** people did with Cam last year. The exact same thing.

Beck would elevate our QB room. By a lot. But he is not as good as Mateer.

NO thanks to Ewers, seen enough to know he ain't it (Don't care they're in the Playoff), Beck on the other hand could be a monumental get for us. He's got more than enough tools to come in and keep what we have going.

Mateer had one good receiver. He wouldn’t have led the nation in passing yards lost to drops if he had good receivers. His offensive line was not decent. He saved their ***.

You are literally just tossing out your opinion of a guy that played one year against G5 competition vs a guy that played the toughest schedule in college football the last two years.

Haven’t checked on Beck but other qb’s have reached out early on in the process .

At this point I take back all I said about Ewers and Beck. I would take either guy in a NY second and I apologize for speaking ill on both gentlemen. It’s likely both are gone but Beck is more realistic with the bum arm. His asking price is just a bit insane. If he were Cam then yeah sure.

Not the biggest fan but after watching this process I’m somewhat happy now lol.

We're about to face Notre Dame, UF, SMU etc. a veteran at QB is what was needed. Especially one who has faced teams better than those or as equal

I’m not some kind of Carson Beck super fan. He’s not the first guy I would pick to play quarterback for us next year. He’s nowhere near Cam Ward.

But…he’s closer to Cam than he is to Emory. He will be playing behind a better offensive line than he was at UGA and against much weaker competition. He will have the benefit of a really good running game and a talented if unproven receiver group here. If he’s healthy, we can win the ACC and make the playoffs with him. We could do A LOT worse and anyone who watched the second half of the bowl game knows this.

I agree w this. we arent doing better in the portal as of now and we just have to hope he doesn't go full TVD. the picks had nothing to do with talent or Bobo (even tho he sucks). he was brain dead in those games and UGA wanted him gone.

Do the 4 teams in the playoffs have the most prolific offenses? No, they have good defenses with top 25 offenses. I just think you're myopic in that if the QB isn't Cam Ward we can't win games.

The 4 teams in the playoff have good to great defenses with coordinators that have been teaching those players that defense for multiple years. Only Penn State has a first year DC and he didn't take over a dumpster fire. They also aren't loaded up with first year portal players being leaned on to fix things.
