Carson Beck

I think he is a strong candidate. All he needs is for one team to take a shot on college-to-pros for this to happen, he doesn't need to interview for five different jobs.

Right now, it's my primary hope in order for things to change rapidly within the next few weeks.

But imagine the huge ripples that would arise from trying to fill the job at Texas.
That would be wild and I'd love to see it!

Not necessarily. He won’t be throwing in the spring and the entire operation will be run in camp by Stockton. Possibly with a new OC and then all the new weapons they brought in will have the chemistry with Stockton. Not like he played bad against ND, they dropped 2-3 big pass plays.

Beck comes back, Stockton leaves. They don’t want that.

One of the problems with the QB situation we are in is that Oregon hasn't made a move for a QB yet...maybe I missed it. I don't think they are going with what they have.
So we may be in competition with them for them for the last viable QB. Not a good place to be. IMO

I think they threw a bag at the kid from ASU and other than that they are going to roll with Dante Moore

What if he asked to come… we said no and now we’re circling back…..
I'd ask at what price. I bet it was a price that would make anyone says no at the start of the portal. Ppl acting like it was crazy to pass early, but if asking prices were extremely high, it's probably worth going other direction. Problem is we didn't just jump on good bang for buck guys early like Morris or even Mendoza. Or just offer that same bag they were asking for for like Robertson/Hoover...

Beck is NOT going to be a top 5 pick. In fact I don't even think he will be a 1st round pick. That means even best case scenario in the NFL he's making <$3M/yr if he's a 2nd round pick and <$1.5M/yr if he's a 3rd round pick or later. Yet I bet he's asking >$4M

Haven’t checked on Beck but other qb’s have reached out early on in the process .

At this point I take back all I said about Ewers and Beck. I would take either guy in a NY second and I apologize for speaking ill on both gentlemen. It’s likely both are gone but Beck is more realistic with the bum arm. His asking price is just a bit insane. If he were Cam then yeah sure.
Price high, go get Drones.

At this point, and not having sat as a fly on the wall inside Greentree offices, I think Drones is gettable and could get us to 10 wins if he comes in and makes football his sole focus. If we get a decent DC and Drones does that, I can see us eeking out 10 wins next year even if we require the bowl game to get there.
