Carson Beck

Y’all really think jumping in the draft automatically means we’re out?
This looks a lot like last year with cam. He declares and I believe he’s not required to follow any ncaa regulations and can talk to whoever.
He gets all the offers and decides where to go.
According to the ortho guys this isn’t as much of a set back to throwing a football as a lot of dudes in here are afraid off.
It’s very smart of him to not only declare but to get the surgery done early enough to have his options open for spring or the draft.
His NIL offer will be way more lucrative than a 5-7 round or udfa pick.

I’m not him. But if I was I’m playing one more year.
As long as he does not sign with an agent.

Oh I know, I’m just giving you 💩

I think Milroe allows mario to have his prototypical QB with a little more upside with his arm than Anthony Brown had.

Dawson could set Milroe up very nicely with some play designs to make it easier on him. Obviously he won’t go for 4,000 yards and 40 TDs through the air. But if you can find a way to have him around the 3,000 yard mark and another 500 on the ground, you could win some games that may be questionable next year.

He’s played in meaningful SEC and Playoff games, so he checks those boxes. Maybe going against ACC teams all season may be a little less challenging for him 🤣
The thought of Milroe and another year of Martinez behind our O-line would terrify every defensive coordinator in football. Holy **** that would be something!

You say no one can evaluate him other than the staff, which is a horrible take. I’ve been to a few practices in the spring and fall and while it wasn’t bad, I wasn’t impressed, I was under the assumption we would have a pretty good defense.

Then, I witnessed what our defense that he went up against and how that played out for us and immediately became concerned and voiced those concerns to push back and being called a mope.

I’m sure we’ll land a portal QB and everyone will say the freak out was all for nothing. But, I’m alarmed they felt the need to try and roll with Emory for a half to see what they have when it was as evident to someone like me it clearly wasn’t going to work. He gets balls batted down and throws worm burners in practice. That’s the biggest red flag to me at 6’6 and the lack of arm talent.

Oh well.
I am too but the guys who loved Emory had to see it or we would hear it all offseason on why isn't Emory getting a shot. The best part about last night game is how all of them are now off that bandwagon cause it was a lot of them

Why did the coaching staff throw him out there? They had to know he was meh. I don't know but from the playcalling they don't seem to be in love with him. They knew what they had in him

If I am throwing the money because of how many years he has left, I am throwing $10 million plus over 3 years for Leavitt.
Yeah you would…..

The only condition I am aware of is Beck cannot sign with an agent to represent him to the NFL.

Cam was able to withdraw from the NFL draft because he had specifically NOT signed with such an agent.

I can't see any way Beck falls that late, even with his injury. He struggled this year but his tape from 2023 was really good.

They are saying he’s back throwing in spring. Purdy had the same surgery with the same surgeon and had a huge year the next season (Beck’s surgery is two months earlier, too).
Throwing a football is less taxing on the UCL than baseballs. This is why pitchers struggled until more recently with Tommy John’s. Beck should be fine to throw by summer if not sooner.

Honestly I'd take him after seeing Emory. We need somebody to come in and compete for that job. His NFL stock isn't that high and he's coming off an injury so I'm sure there's a massive discount.

Certainly not my preference though.
