I think Milroe allows mario to have his prototypical QB with a little more upside with his arm than Anthony Brown had.

Dawson could set Milroe up very nicely with some play designs to make it easier on him. Obviously he won’t go for 4,000 yards and 40 TDs through the air. But if you can find a way to have him around the 3,000 yard mark and another 500 on the ground, you could win some games that may be questionable next year.

He’s played in meaningful SEC and Playoff games, so he checks those boxes. Maybe going against ACC teams all season may be a little less challenging for him 🤣

Here is the thing.

As proven with Cam Ward, there is a special “Sucks Win Tax” with Mario.

His coaching and way he runs the program will cost us at least 2 wins. Not even Cam could overcome this.

So if we are expected to win 10 games next year with a new and expensive QB, it means we will be lucky to win 8.

Yeah, notwithstanding the PR campaign, the play calling told us what Dawson thinks of Emory. There’s no way Dawson is handing his offense over to him. And given that they passed on Mendoza, who I agree was a good option, there must be something else they feel good about. And I would hope it’s not someone who isn’t available until spring whether due to injury or not hitting the portal in the coming days.
 
Jalen Milroe could literally not be a worse fit for Dawson’s offense, this is insane. D’Eriq King on steroids, my god.

I know half of the board is just now realizing Emory is horrible but Milroe is NOT IT.

We as got opinions You do know Dawson has had running qb's before, and we do play in the ACC

Dawson has had quarterbacks that can run. Milroe is a runner that plays quarterback. There is a difference. He can’t ******* pass. He can throw the ball 50 yards. He can’t layer balls. He can’t read defenses. He had five touchdowns and ten interceptions in conference play.

But hey, I was just about to respond to you saying Milroe and Martinez could be Lamar and Henry, so I don’t think this is going anywhere.

People talking like bama OL sucks lol. What you see is what you get with milroe. Not saying he's bad but there may be better options with more than 1 year of eligibility

Which coach doesn’t have that though? Ryan Day and Lane are both known for having that trait. Harbaugh had it until he lucked out.

It’s just part of college football now though.

Just gotta hope you hit a homerun with the defensive side of the ball to mitigate that risk.

I may be wrong, but I think there is close to a 100% chance Notre Dame adds a QB in the portal. I can’t read the article, but they are not likely pursuing any QB now in the portal. They will back channel to a QB very quietly just as they have done every other portal add. I hope they don’t, and I hope we add some stud. Gives us a chance to win on Labor Day.

I mean I never really said I think Emory is the guy. Last night was evident of that and he’s clearly not. Going back and finding these posts to troll after the fact is certainly interesting behavior.

You say no one can evaluate him other than the staff, which is a horrible take. I’ve been to a few practices in the spring and fall and while it wasn’t bad, I wasn’t impressed, I was under the assumption we would have a pretty good defense.

Then, I witnessed what our defense that he went up against and how that played out for us and immediately became concerned and voiced those concerns to push back and being called a mope.

I’m sure we’ll land a portal QB and everyone will say the freak out was all for nothing. But, I’m alarmed they felt the need to try and roll with Emory for a half to see what they have when it was as evident to someone like me it clearly wasn’t going to work. He gets balls batted down and throws worm burners in practice. That’s the biggest red flag to me at 6’6 and the lack of arm talent.

Oh well.

This looks a lot like last year with cam. He declares and I believe he’s not required to follow any ncaa regulations and can talk to whoever.
He gets all the offers and decides where to go.
According to the ortho guys this isn’t as much of a set back to throwing a football as a lot of dudes in here are afraid off.
It’s very smart of him to not only declare but to get the surgery done early enough to have his options open for spring or the draft.
His NIL offer will be way more lucrative than a 5-7 round or udfa pick.

I’m not him. But if I was I’m playing one more year.
