Also if I’m choosing between Emory/Nickle & Ewers/Beck then the answer is obvious.

Most importantly who would move the needle for portal recruits that are in wait and see mode? Again the answer is obvious

Imagine the media hype if we bring in Ewers/Beck lol

If ward improved like he did (going from an average draft grade to being possibly the #1 pick) being in Dawsons systems then it’s fair to Beck/Ewers would improve and benefit as well.

If Ewers doesn’t get the grade he’s hoping then Mario/Dawson have a VERY strong pitch for him….almost like they can say “come to Miami and improve your draft grade”…….

Playing at UGA allowed him to suck for quarters at a time because the defense would keep them in every game. Getting them defensive scores , set them up with short fields or the return game. Once again I ask those to go watch the entire UF game then get back to me. He’s a rollercoaster . It’s hard to suck when you play for the bully and have so many mulligans allowed to you every game. Imagine his record at any other school with that 12-12 td-int ratio versus the Sec?

the issue is miami is treating their NIL collective amount like its limited to a fake salary cap for principles when it isnt.

Cam Ward went up because he didn't have to run for his life and Miami is an upgrade talent wise from Washington State. Carson Beck will be taking a step down. He had the best infrastructure he could ever ask for and played poorly. You guys want to lean on the ACC being bad. Cam didn't even get a chance to win the ACC when Miami didn't play the other two best teams in the league during conference play.

Using Emory to bolster the argument is nonsense. If Miami can tamper with a freshman CB at Wisconsin, Miami can tamper with a younger QB someplace else who would likely be less expensive than Beck and leave more money to improve the roster around that QB.

Anyone wanting Beck clearly hasn't seen him play. He's dog water against teams with a pulse. Much better off going through the growing pains with a true freshman Nickle than a one year rental extremely mediocre Beck. Ewers isn't a much better option for that matter, but better than Beck.

I’ve had a rule since Tebow played for the Broncos and Skip Bayless would fellate him for having a good W-L record while completing 2 passes in games. The rule is if you bring up win Loss record for a qb I instantly stop debating or discussing. I’m out. This isn’t baseball and they aren’t starting pitchers. You can get a win playing one snap and it was a pick.

Then where is this going cribby? Mendoza is off the board and Emory isn’t the answer. So who are we getting?
 
Everybody has watched Beck. This isn’t some flavor-of-the-month G5 or Big 12 QB that nobody has watched and hasn’t played anybody.

The funny thing is that the “trust your eyes” crowd seems to have a lot of faith in QBs they’ve never seen in extended action.
