Carson Beck

Georgia couldn't run the ball for sh*t this year either which didn't help. not absolving Beck of some of the horrible picks he threw though but yeah

I don’t think Mike Bobo’s offense is exactly made for QBs to thrive but that’s jmo

This x 1000

You took the world's right out of my mouth. Who has Bobo ever developed recently? If he wasn't Kirbys bestie would he ever be coaching at UGA? I don't think Beck is a right off. Ewers, on the other hand, is essentially being pushed out the door by one of the top offensive coaches in the nation. it makes me wonder..

Dawson runs a way easier offense and actually attempts to work around his QBs weaknesses.

I think Emory could use a year to battle and develop behind a vet like Ewers or Beck (both were projected first rounders) and we could use a year before handing the keys over to Emory. Plus, both Ewers and Beck have had injury issues. We'll need Emory regardless

Let’s say Beck and Ewers come back to college.

How many 2025 QBs would you rank ahead of them? I’m assuming it’s a long list, based on the way they’re discussed on here.
Maybe only the legend-in-waiting Arch Manning, who has looked great in warm ups as well as on the sideline the last two seasons. Actually, like the GT QB - tough kid, can run a little bit and solid in passing game. The rest of the QBs are all suspect with varying deficiencies.

He threw 9 picks in three games. He was a meme on SC. Common opponent for next year, UF. Threw three picks, they would have lost if dJ didn’t get knocked out! He was bailed out by an elite defense. He checks down to his TE and RBs. He’s getting processed out at UGA. I feel like I’m being gaslit @DMoney.

He’s not getting processed out. Their mod actually said if he isn’t going to the NFL, Georgia will welcome him back.

He had a bad stretch but I’m telling you their oline was absolute dog**** mid year and was going through changes due to injuries.

Its not a long list, but Mendoza was a slam
Dunk IMO, and Mario let him walk.

No guarantee coming off injury Beck can be Mendoza.

Right now out current QB situation sits around 12-14th in the ACC.
I like Mendoza, too. I suspect his reputation on this board will increase now that he’s not coming.

One advantage I see with someone like Beck is that he’d be one and done to hand it off to Luke Nickel. Mendoza had the extra year.

This guy is an NFL draft pick who put up big numbers in the SEC. He’s tall, has a good arm, and can run. Most importantly, he has a ton of experience. Of course he’s better than most college quarterbacks in the country.

If he jumped in the Portal, he would immediately get a huge transfer grade and a ton of calls. I think Cam Ward has distorted our fanbase’s idea of what a good college QB looks like.

Which is why I keep asking: if Beck is trash, who is better in 2025? It should be a long list.
It’s an insane argument. We all saw Beck play. Yes the SEC is a much tougher conference than the acc. He Will probably boost his stance because of how much worse this conference is alone. But the only thing I watch religiously is college football. My eyes don’t lie to me. Beck had drops for sure, but he was awful vs Bama, Ole Miss, UF, Texas twice. He was heinous vs Georgia tech in the first half. Hes above average and I would take anyone below over him.

- manning, nussmeir, leavitt, sawyer Robertson, Allar (on his best day), sellers, haven’t seen him play yet but probably Sayin. Klubnik, King, Becht, Raoila (probably gonna make a huge leap in year two), Pavia, Mateer, Marcel Reed, Behren Morton. Maybe Mendoza

Don’t have insight into Kirby/Bobo relationship with Beck and family, but unless it’s blown up he’s the best option they have.

They are saying he’s back throwing in spring. Purdy had the same surgery with the same surgeon and had a huge year the next season (Beck’s surgery is two months earlier, too).

Still not crazy about it. I think I’d have preferred Mendoza. We don’t have many options other than an open comp between Luke and Emory I suppose though.

Did you watch any of their games? He single-handedly tried to lose about 3-4 games with his interceptions.
He plays really well in stretches of games and really, really poorly in stretches.

Most of the UGA fans around here are not upset that Brock will be starting the playoff game and feel that Beck was too caught up with the money and fame. He is certainly not viewed at UGA as a worker in the mold of Stetson Bennett.
Who do you want? Don't give me pie in the sky.
