I dont have it backwards....our O sucked a$$ but our D wasnt as good as everyone thinks. You left out BC walking up and down the field too. D is alot better than what we were used to under Donifrio. But if anyone thinks the D is championship caliber......just blinded by orange/green glasses

DT depth and LB play was the main reason why.....DB is the least of our problems defensively imo....7-6 getting our *** kicked in the $hi+ bowl by a mediocre Wisconsin team doesn't help recruiting either....those who complain about teams out recruiting us like Miss st and FSU...fail to realize they pump out 1st rounders...our top NFL prospects JoJo Jackson and Willis are projected 3rd rounders....we need to win and/or start getting those 1st rounders to improve recruiting....

Cherry picking the games where we actually played a team with a half decent offense.....I am not saying the D sucked but its not all that either. What about the BC game. What about the year before against Wisky when the O game the D a 14-3 lead. The O didnt give up 333 rushing yards.

There is no way you watch the games.

You keep talking about the BC game. Again, the offense was completely inept and on top of that our QBs literally gifted them 10 points.

If you watched that game objectively you’d know BC had these scoring drives:

1 plays for 14 yards —TD
7 plays for 9 yards—FG

Despite those gifts they scored a whopping 27 points.

That was the story for literally the entire season. Like the Wisconsin and LSU games you only remember the couple of good drives they had. You forget the countless other times the defense held despite being hung out to dry possession after possession, game after game.

It’s easy to say Quan was gonna be good regardless but there are plenty of 4* kids that don’t do schit in college and don’t make it to the league. Not defending their recruiting but that argument is weak.

The thing is, folks who follow FL hs fb knew Jaquan was a terrific football player, and they knew guys like loftus, hope, vernon davis, D’maury and other golden recruits would be terrible and would not play at UM. The known plugged in posters on Um and ofher boards said this early and often. I don’t understand how those guys all knew things that golden didn’t.

Well butch davis wasnt fired and neither was coach richt, and coach scott was never offered the job, so im not sure what "4" you are referring to. But ultimately this is a football forum which covers all aspects of the program and many aspects of Life!
