Yes they are. Not a huge amount, but yes they are.

I’d like to see them recruit better so that the defense can take next step from very good to elite.

Yep. Their coaching and results are gonna need a little time to pull recruiting up.
We already have a more talented roster than when they arrived TBH

And I’m not doubting that he was already good, because he clearly was. I’m only saying that there have been numerous players, I’d imagine, that came out of hs just as good if not better than him and they didn’t make it. You can assume (and be correct) that players will be good but you never have a definite answer until it’s over with.

The things that Jaquan are good at can't be taught. His instincts are elite. He also benefited from playing in a much better scheme than what he committed to Miami to play. Diaz has just let these guys play so they don't have to think.
 
Banda and Rumph are doing a great job identifying quality DB and offered scholarships to play at the U! Recruits make decisions based on: family (business), program production, and perception of development of former players going to the NFL. By the way, anyone can be viewed as a top recruiter with hidden benefits (I.e., Coley at Georgia and Mario at Bama and Oregon). Saban has financial backing and everyone knows he is not a great coach but elite CEO!

You might be as dumb as your response suggests, but I doubt it.

Do tell us, however, why Richt QUIT after 3 years. And admitted it was for the good of the program. You cannot simultaneously give him credit for being a gentleman the way he stepped away, and not admit he needed to go.

Eh. There arent tht many kids that all the truly knowledgeable so fla hs guys agree on. Sometimes its a ‘he’s great.’ Sometimes it’s a ‘nah.’ Jaquan everyone agreed on. Everyone who knew. They did.

I don’t think you get what I mean by you can only ever assume a player will be good. I may not have explained my point well but it’s not that important. The guy worked out great so it’s all good.

I’m willing to start over at zero with everyone now that Manny is in charge, but you can’t pretend to not be worried with our DB recruiting. The misses over the 17, 18, & 19 classes are staggering.

They may be decent to good developers of talent, but at some point you have to be able to land talent to develop it.

They have had misses but still collected talent in those classes for sure and even with the misses still had the top ranked pass defense while teams like FSU collecting high 4 and 5 stars recently has the #120 ranked pass defense...
