Camp Notes Day #6

Not exactly going out on a limb, but Crawford may just become our best CB by the end of the season.

#67- Corey King is not MIAMI caliber. In every play, i see this kid getting pushed back at least 3 yards behind the line of scrimmage. OMG.. its bad .

I know it is only one drill at practice, but it is highlights like that which make me incredibly nervous about our DT depth. I have some faith in Porter, Robinson and Pierre, but after that it is downright scary.

McCord will lead the team in sacks

Hopefully with a respectable number that is above 5!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think 10 is a realistic goal. I don't hate his move to linebacker because we need bodies there and he's kinda skinny, but I would hope that his role on this year's defense is to sack the qb on passing downs.

I would love it if he had 10, he had 3.5 last year. I would guess double that if he plays more.

Most schools are in the same boat.

after what FSU line did to corey king i dont know how anyone can not be nervous.

I think the fresh of next class might push those guys out..

i agree. i dont understand why everyone thinks gunter is a shoe in. he played well against fsu but i still think tracy and antonio might be the
best option.

Probably because Gunter has had a stranglehold on a black jersey from day one of spring practices until today. plus he got the most reps of those 3 last season and held his own. Plus he is a bigger more physical corner that fits the boundary role well

Where are the updates from the afternoon practice?

I need to know who was out there flying around

' Used to cringe every fall practice with that "Guys were fling around ...." report from management. No information in the phrase...much better now.

PS we needed DTs DEs and we're getting them, after signing day, some of them for play this year, meeting roster needs year round...this staff is relentless.

If we can have Gunter, Crawford and Howard take the majority of the snaps we are in good shape at the corner and nickel spot. Artie Burns is a stud but is still a freshman. It's a good sign if we have 3 guys that can keep him on the bench. Would like to see Dortch or Hope step up and take hold of a Dime/slot corner spot but I think Burns will be 4th in the rotation. He's too good to not give reps to.

We're going to see a lot of Artie Burns in September.

I think he'll prove to be waaaay to good to keep off the field.

the 2 sleepers are hope and dortch, one of which is going to pan out in my opinion. im more open to thinking its going to be Dortch, the dude has game.

Hope always seemed like a guy you move to safety to me.

hes not really hysical though...its hard to move those types to safety....

he may be able to cover ground though...i think Hope will pull through..he has solid weight at about 185 right now...hes 5'11-6'0.

Kid will play alot his jr/sr years.
