C.J Henderson

let the kid watch UF up close.. i know his old man was happy he was a Cane commit, as we get to signing day maybe he will be in his ear.. im sure we can bring him back in, just have to keep recruiting him

I think it is the exact opposite..Didnt Pete say Randy and his ole boy were friends from back in the day?

Henderson dad is close with Randy Shannon.

So he goes to UF for Shannon. UF keeps losing and The Tooth gets fired. And the reason he we to UF in the first place is gone. That's how this is going to end up, watch.

Throw in the following at Safety

Carter
Gibson
Jobe
Hall

And Frierson might play corner we are stacked

We aren't stacked because they aren't on the team yet. We need to get elite guys every year - not always saying the position is loaded next year.

Losing Byrd and Henderson hurts - because they are both elite athletes.

Need to get someone in this class with size/speed that can contribute this year. Henderson is a project, but we need to keep guys like that in our class.

For anyone already looking ahead to the ridiculous 2018 DB group, take a look at our cornerback depth chart for the 2017 season first. We desperately need to land multiple premier CB talents in this class. Not just two years from now, but this class.

Our defense couldn't have realistically looked any better in the first month of the season, both in terms of style of play and results. But we haven't faced a functional passing offense yet. We're going to learn everything we need to know about just how much our secondary has improved in coverage in the month of October against FSU, UNC, VT, and ND.

We have a pressing need for premier talent at CB. Hopefully we continue to kick *** on the field and lure some big time prospects at cornerback to join Dallas & Bandy (and Edwards if he ends up at corner instead of safety) over the next few months. We need plenty more immediate help for 2017 before landing as many premier DBs as we possibly can in 2018.

You really think that these kids worry too much about a faceless coach getting fired their first year? Not too many.

Well sucks because he has elite athleticism, but it's on to another option. Keep in mind that 2018 is loaded.

And T Byrd didn't matter because 2017 was loaded.

Exactly my thoughts on this. The "Year X is loaded at Position Y" is not a good recruiting strategy. Nothing is guaranteed down the line. We need quality CBs and we need them as soon as possible.

I think it's more relevant to comment that he's just learning than CB position.

**** it we're looking the best we've left led j a decade in the biggest game in a decade with studs coming in if he/Byrd refuses to join in the revival of the U the n **** em. Yes it hurts to lose but **** them they'll never stop us from whupping FSU Saturday or from taking CFB by storm again

I felt this coming long ago.....took a lot of heat for saying he wasn't a lock....oh well....next up

I just heard an interesting take on what's going on here. We have to remember this teenage kid has never before really played corner. It's something that's brand new to him & he seems to still be really uncomfortable with. That being said he sees what we're bringing in already & knows the direction were heading with future recruits. Another words he lacks the confidence to know that he'll be able to start at corner & carve a future out for himself when we're lining up studs at that position 2 deep already. So he's trigger shy against them goons. It's not at all his relationship with bandy or baez or anyone else. It's a lack of confidence. If we really want him we might be best served by telling him well put him on offense & special teams.

Just another reason this kid seems baby powder soft...

Not worried about loosing Henderson one bit.

Kid was never meant to be a Cane, now lets find one who is!

For a team based in S. Florida it is absolutely criminal that our DB depth is as poor as it is. Losing Henderson sucks, not just due to our poor DB depth, but to the fact that this team still need elite athletes to compete on the highest level.

This was expected. My question is how does this affect Trajan Bandy and Josh Jobe? Are they shaky too?

Don't know about Jobe. But Trajan the day he committed was sporting the Sean Taylor jersey he wore during the Fiesta Bowl against Ohio St. as his brother came along. I'd like to say that that's a rather solid pledge. I don't know Bandy, but I'm going to assume he's not the type that would play games like that.

I'm not saying they care, I'm saying that's how it's going to play out.

No matter how you slice it, it's alarming that we went head-to-head with Florida for 3 top local CB talents (Henderson, Wilson, Davis) and they're all heading to Gainesville. 2 already committed there and Henderson is now out of our class.

Plenty of posters knocked Brini when he tossed out a verbal to UGA, calling him soft, unathletic, and overrated. That type of player doesn't vill the void left by an elite athlete with massive upside like Henderson.

Dominating the month of October on the field would open the floodgates and allow us to enter the picture for some premier corners not even being talked about right now. The results on the trail at this position have to be far better with the current product we're putting on the field and the woeful state of our CB depth chart next season.

Should go back at Nick Roberts. Shouldn't have dropped him in the first place

Lets get Mr. Quartermen Shaq, Pinckney and any other J-Ville kids to start making calls. From what Mr. Q has said about Nick, competition doesn't bother him one bit. Recruiting is a fickle game.

Go Canes!

UF already has like 3 other corners coming in for his class. Not buying that. Just sounds like Shannon swayed the dad.

#1 UF has nothing to do with this. #2 UF has been selling him on playing both sides of the ball primarily offense

If true, then he doesn't belong here. You're a plugged in guy so you would know better than I would, but I find it hard to believe we didn't offer him the chance to play Offense either.

It's not that we didn't tell him he'd have his chance. It's he knows he is anot her version of deejay in that aspect & Deejay will get that first look
