Butch Hires Kevin Beard

Maybe we can get Holmes to be our next defensive line coach in 3 years or so if kugs ever moves onwards and Holmes gets more d1 seasoning. We know butch can identify quality staff. Let
Us use them as our coaching farm system.

Kug was at Missouri for how long? 15 years? He doesnt really move around a lot so if we keep him happy he could stay here forever too.
He gets a decent offer to be a DC and he'll leave tomorrow. Don't kid yourself.

Who is offering him a DC gig though? He has been a top level DLine coach for years and he didn't get it. I think most people see him as a better position coach than DC.

A) If we are recruiting the same kids as Butch and FIU, we have serious problems

B) Good hires and opportunities for these guys, wish them the best of luck... They can build upon their relationships and ties to South FL, and if FIU has any level of success, they'll get good visibility, too

He's never been associated with a marquee program like Miami. Now he is. He's also going to be a big part of completely revamping the UM defense from garbage to gold. He'll pitch that to teams looking for a DC.

I hate to see Butch any place other than THE U. I like him and wanted him here but it is still all about THE U, so I cannot say I am rooting for him too much. That said, FIU recruiting got a heck of a promotion hiring him. I do have one degree from there, so as long as it is not us he is playing, I will pull for him.

He was at Mizzou when they were heading to the SEC Championship game. He has tons of guys playing in the NFL, I think people know who he is. He turned Sam into the SEC def MVP and drafted, that should have been enough.

If you think coaching at Missouri is the same stage and career making opportunity as UM then we'll never agree. Kool himself has said every coach's ultimate goal is to run his own program and that he'd like to have a chance to be a DC.

I think Manny Diaz has two years at Miami before he's gone. At that point, maybe Richt gives Kool that opportunity. We'll see what happens.
