Big Boy Talk on this new group of Hurricanes....

I may be a troll for my day job. But, I like this small class. Get one or two JC DT's next year along with Golden kids and all the gaping gaps from yesteryear are filled.

Lets not forget about RLIII. Kid will cut his foot off before he sully the royal Ray Lewis name. He is going to do whatever the coaching staff asks him to do, play any position, bleed orange and green, and then ask for some more.

Exactly how I see him. And you can rest assured he will work his *** off in the gym all year with his dad. When he begins to physically mature he will be a force on the field and in the locker room. Love this dude.

1 person dies a week in Carter's hood, you think that goon doesn't want a meal ticket out that mess?

Love this class and all the kids Golden is bringing in.

Great post!

Bond, Figs, Sandland... Wow!!!
mmany of these guys never waivered... Here's looking at you RLIII.

Stacy Coley was cryin on stage he was so excited to be a Cane.

great looking group.

Im honestly really excited about these kids. I dont see any entitled candy @sses that are just here because its "popular" to be here. These are the kids with the chip on their shoulders who come to work hard, and have that "us against the world' mentality. That is what the U is all about, that is what made this program what it is, what it was, and made us great.

Where can I buy Coley's "swag" hat?

I half-jokingly kept saying he had too much swag for the Noles. Dudes like that are born to be Canes.

If you find one let me know. How about the emotion that dude showed sitting there? He cares. Now he needs to channel that emotion into a positive approach on the field, and he'll be unstoppable.

Franchise has been saying for a while, Ray Lewis III's old man wasnt exactly diesel when he showed up at UM. Hopefully he has his daddy's DNA and turns into a monster in the next couple years

Man that's a money post and perfect follow up about AQM.

Best part about this class is Duke Johnson and co. are waiting with an extended hand and a barbell in the other.

Beautiful, man. I'm sick of the ***gots and mopes, and I ain't just talking about the ones who spurned UM or Lice or Beanbag or Uncle Puke. It's time to celebrate the warriors who came here when the chips were down and who #StandWithTheU.

Sure, we missed on a couple of big time prospects (MT6 & Collins), but the people that are over in the meltdown thread don't realize that our class is stacked with talent and still very highly regarded from all the recruiting services (if you care).

This year:
16 commits, 6 in the ESPN150, 8 4 star, and 8 3 star.

Last year:
33 commits, 6 in the ESPN150, 8 4 star, and 24 3 star.

Our class is half the size with the same amount of high-end recruits, and built with the same eye for talent that brought in three star guys like Flowers, Gabe Terry, Herb Waters, and Rayshawn Jenkins last year.

People need to stop looking at the couple of guys we missed out on and look at the amount of studs Golden & Co were able to bring in given the limitations they had.

On paper, I give it an A-.

Bond, Figs, burns, carter, AQM, that kid who we might add from Lousiana all play relentless

I haven't been able to find it online. Tried probably 3-4 canes merch sites and new era's website. Hopefully someone will find it cuz its sick

It's a very good class minus the sting of losing the best defensive prospect of the SF in five years, and striking out at DT outside of the Juco kid. The good news is that we have the bodies, it's just out of the guys we have, not only has one not emerged there isn't one guy who screams of being a next level player. We will just continue to test our luck next season, but another Juco is gonna be a must. The two year haul is actually very very good and if coached right, should make us a top 15 team again soon. If we want to get to that next level, we need to do better, but we continue to head in the right direction. Up next, hopefully a 9 win season plus a bowl win.

Let's not rewrite history. Ray Lewis was the best college LB I've ever seen from the first day he set foot on the field as a true frosh. And while he was relatively light back then, he brought it and made a big time impact right away. People talk about him being 190 as a HS senior but that was his wrestling weight. I would guess he played around 215 as a frosh. Spence barely got over that through his career, and was one of our best players of the past decade.

What Ray had, he had from the get go. Hopefully III has it too. Time will tell.

Nice work Franchise and others who brought up those he didn't. I officially retract the neg I gave you the other day for your AC tirades.

Carter said tonight his favorite player is Ray Lewis, and he can't wait to meet him. I can't wait till these young dudes get some exposure to Ray's motivational aura.

Think about the de-evolution of Hurricane football. Think about the big shouldered gritty warriors who were a little underrated by the services who re-built this place (Reed, Wayne, Moss, Morgan, Dorsey, and the list goes on) with their hard work and determination. Then, think of the entitled bozos who were highly ranked recruits and tried to jump on the machine that those tough guys built and just coast to championships (Ryan Moore, Jolla, Willie, etc.). As much as people want to collect stars, it's absolutely integral to build a TEAM. And a great TEAM isn't always the biggest collection of HS stars.

This. Been saying it all year when folks would carp about taking III's commitment. Ray Lewis is going to be around the program a LOT the next bunch of years, and that should be a good thing all around. Good for the kids. Good for recruiting.

That is true, but let's not go too far with it. The kids we didn't get, were kids this staff wanted. At positions of need. It doesn't sting less because they had stars. They were presumably recruited because the staff did its work.

I'm not looking for stars as such. But let's get the right kids. Kids the staff wants.
