2025 Ben Hanks Jr 4* CB from Booker T Commits to the Gator

I get the thought process but how many times do we actually see that play out? Cooper is a good example. Njuko is a perfect example. Who else from your perspective was raw with great tools that we turned into a great player?
We haven’t turned many players great so it would have to be an adjusted term lol

Berrios, X, Warlord, Thriller, Kam. ... There've been several over the years, though most were quality college players as opposed to long-term NFL types. But to your point, there are a lot more heralded recruits that have been difference makers.

Who do you feel other than Reuben came in from day 1 ready to play at a high level is the more accurate question? All these people saying because they assume DJ isn't coming, that Hanks is so much better of a prospect. I just can't see how anyone can immediately make that assumption simply from a tools perspective. As of right this moment Hanks has a better game. But to assume the 6-4 #1 corner in the nation who flies up and down the field and is fluid in his movements isn't an amazing prospect (who knows how it actually plays out for either of them)is just wild.

The reason I’d argue Hanks is the more important prospect at CB specifically is because you can guarantee that he is straight up a CB. Pickett may very well be the better player, but his true position may be Safety or even WR or something. Maybe he wants to do what Hunter is doing…. Just as important if that’s the case, but he also apparently wants to focus on CB. And just the fact he is that tall would make him a very unique build - while could be great - is also not even near typical build for a reason…

Like if the situation was We are relying on one of these two to be the CB that steps right in day 1 AND we can only get 1, I don’t think it’s surprising to think Hanks is the more likely to pan out there.
