Feel like it's the opposite. If Napier stays, then the program is dead. Recruits usually start to avoid lame duck HC's. If they hire an actual coach, then they could bring some momentum.
He's already committed to Nape right now.

If he got another year, I don't think that would help sway him to flip to us if the guy he committed to is still there.

If Nape gets fired, that just gives us a high suited spade for that book.

I don’t know. Him staying gives to way more uncertainty and instability for the program and kid. If they get rid of him and make an exciting hire before signing day I think it might make it more difficult… In the end , the dad loves the program, not Napier

I think the point is he committed to Nape has the relationship with him. If we truly were a second option and the amount of time and energy we put into the relationship then that will matter versus a new guy coming in.

I think I agree with this. Hanks is a legacy, so he is committed to the University of Florida, not Billy Napier. Didn't matter who the HC was at the time when he committed. However, results and performance matters, and Billy is looking really bad right now. Would be different if this was year 1 and he was struggling, but he's in year 3 and there are no signs of improvement. If Napier is replaced, that gives the program a positive change and hope. If Napier stays, the program is dead and the future looks dark and hopeless.

Still may not matter in the end even if Napier is retained, but I feel that gives us a better chance of flipping some of their recruits if he stays.

If he signs up for that dumpster fire, then he just really wants to be there and really bleeds O&B and we never had a shot. He just gave us home town courtesy consideration. No high level recruit in their right mind would sign up for that mess. Especially since DJ Lagway is not a guarantee to stay after this year. (UF is about to go on a 6 game losing streak to end the year including a few of them that will be extreme blowouts)

If Nape gets fired at the end of the season, I would imagine that would help us tremendously for a potential flip.

I think it also depends on who they get and when they get him.

If it's a guy that Hanks has interacted with earlier in recruiting, that could help Florida. And if they get someone rapidly, before Early Signing Day, that could help Florida.

But if Florida hires some G5 guy or they hire someone after ESD, then Miami is in a good spot to be the "safety school".
