never took that next step and got better here. came in with some promise to be the next shockey or JG. never got better and got passed. bittersweet b/c it means we are recruiting better and don't have to rely on mediocre talent and the guys coming now are better than the guys we had to take under sanctions.

I never understood how he couldn't get on the field, his tape was awesome.

JUCO, he just didnt seem to be that athletic, had size and good hands just couldnt get separation

2 TE sets will be tough if we see an injury to Walford or Dobard

Still have O'Donnell who was a OT coming out of High School

I don't think he'll strong arm him like Davis did. Davis was in full blown desperation mode at QB, and cal was tampering with Covington too if memory serves.

Someone mentioned it before but the kid probably should have went to ASU. It would be selfish of us to think otherwise. He just doesnt fit what we want in a TE. He wants to just catch balls and there is more to it then that in our offense.

But the other side of me thinks that you have to FIND ways to implement him into the offense. Even if its just knowing that he cant ever be in on pass blocking situations.

Would really suck for him to go because I dont know if he ever was given a fair shot in live game action. Him and Ryan Williams had that Brock Berlin-Kellen Winslow type chemistry. Just natural.

Hope that if Golden convinces him to stay that we utilize him. Holding him back from leaving for selfish reasons isnt fair to the kid.

To clear up some misconceptions from what I have seen Sandland works very hard however he straight up has been outplayed in practice by Dobard and Walford. He has had many reps to prove himself and the biggest concern was a lot of drops. However, outside of Dobard and Walford I can't remember another TE besides Sandland who belongs playing at this level this year. So Sandland is still in-line for playing time and can help this team out this year so I hope he reconsiders.
