Beau Sandland Transfering

We will be fine. We're not losing anything here. Walford and Dobard were getting the chunk anyways. Odonnell brings the big blocking presence as well.

I kind of thought of this too a few weeks back. Transfers that wouldn't surprise me was Sandland, Jones, King, and Hamilton. I'm expecting 2-3 more transfers before Labor Day.

i love how everyone is doubting sandland and saying he never improved. seriously, the guy never got much of chance and saw limited action in games. caught whatever few passes were thrown to him and it's not liked we ever used in the endzone which would of been where he was most valuable. i wish him the best of luck and it's unfortunate that we never tried to utilize his skillset.

2 TE sets will be tough if we see an injury to Walford or Dobard

Still have O'Donnell who was a OT coming out of High School

Jake O'Donnell was a TE and DE coming out of high school not a olinemen. He has been moved back forth between defense and offenses not finding a home on either side but still sticking with team he is currently 6 '7" 258lbs ( that's to skinny to a quality OT in Pennsylvania, even for high school).

There were rumors be was going to leave last year. I still think he has great potential as a pass catching TE. He'll wind up at ASU and catch 60 balls.

I have watched and rewatched all of our games and have noticed that Sandland had a hard time getting separation and was weaker than you would expect out of a guy with his size. There was a reason he didn't get more chances then he did.

We playing at 76 this year in order to crush the NCAA sanctions in Year 1?

The sanctions don't work that way. 9 scholarships have to be taken away over a 3 year span, how UM allocates that spread is UM's choice but once taken they can't be replaced until after the third year and UM has to take at least 1 a year. We have two years left to go, the sanctions last until after 2016 season.

I agree Sandland was under utilized last year because Morris wasn't strong in throwing to his TE. I wish Sandland good luck where ever he ends up. I wish he would stay at UM and graduate in spring then if he doesn't get a good NFL evaluation he could transfer to another school as a 5 yr Sr grad student. I think UM will go to the TE alot this seaon.

someone mentioned Jake O'Donnell....that is literally the first time i've heard his name mentioned in 2014. I seriously forgot he was on the squad.

Golden is playing the guys that wants it more. point blank period. im loving the change. Dobard was too good to not put on the field. i think Beau Blocking ability is what hurt him ultimately. He is a spread TE and not a Pro TE.

I agree, but the scout team is gonna take a big hit. lol

true he didn't get separation, but a guy his size doesn't always need much separation. go look at kelvin benjamin's film and see how many times that guy had separation. having a big body and a good set of hands can make up for a lot of things. i get that maybe he wasn't working as hard as the other guys and possibly wasn't a "practice" guy. But you have to think you give him some looks in the redzone just based on potential alone. Even though Stephen Morris was terrible in the redzone. we'll see if he has production wherever he goes and i wish him the best of luck.

sorry about Beau.

I think he made a GREAT mistake coming to Miami. or at least with Morris at the QB.

we are the TE U but we ask our TEs to block a lot but he just couldn't do that i guess.

One of the best TE tapes I've seen in some time, but couldn't seem to get adjusted to the speed. Had a very Tyler McMeans-like transition from JuCo to Miami. He would have helped us this year, but this says more about Dobard than it does about anything else. Problem is we're now thin. Hope David NJoku is eating whatever Perryman has eaten.

BS was a TE in a spread offense in JUCO and could never make the transition to an in line blocker. This move says a lot about Stan. Hopefully Njoku sees the field a bit too. Good luck to Beau.

I really thought he was going to be the next Chase Ford. ****, this stings. How will I sleep tonight?

I have to agree I mean this roster received a kick in the *** this past year and a lot of the freshmen and rs freshmen are starving for play time and brought their skills to the practices and scrimmages. o donnell will be very serviceable in the blocking packages but walford and stan is a legit 1-2 punch.

when we got this kid I was ecstatic. very sad it did not work out. I hope nothing but the best for him and a long career in the pro's

coaches should release him without very minor limitations.
