I don't know if Joe is the problem or not but when Miami first hired Mario, Manny Navarro did an interview with the Oregon beat writer and for the most part he had only positive things to say about Mario, but he spent a good amount of the interview questioning Joe's value... both as a recruiter and on field coach.

I had no exposure to Joe (good or bad) yet, but found that portion of the interview stuck with me as it was really odd how much the reporter seemed to be going out of his was to dog Joe and backing it up with stats showing they did not recruit well there and underperformed even for the level they recruited despite being positive about mostly everything else. And his comments didn't seem mean spirited, but more that he was miffed as to why Mario kept him around as well. I mostly brushed it off thinking 'why would Mario bring him along if he is a bad coach?' but with how DT recruiting has gone since he has been here... I don't know if it is Joe, but something is off.

He looked at rankings of a coach’s recruits relative to the other coaches on staff, to see how each coach performed vs the rest of the staff. He said joe turned out to be the worst recruiter In the conference based on that metric.

He did say Joe was an excellent developer tho and didn’t understand why he wasn’t recruiting better.

I think Lanning is good, for what it's worth, but that's Mario's roster.

A lot of the core guys including qb are manny guys
Oregon has also had a pretty decent amount of roster turnover
Even fsu best rb is Oregon transfer
Lanning is good coach
And learned the bag game at bama and uga
And currently has the baddest bagman of them all
So it’s no shame if he wins a recruiting battle
the odd one is losing to lane
Esp after all the extra “trips” he took here
I think for dts it’s just gonna take us winning and taylord showing out some more
des recently had a couple first round and a couple solid picks in the draft
But dt hasn’t had anything since really Rj since then we had ford and I can’t think of anyone else
