Assessing this recruiting class

It’s ok to be a Mario apologist but when you start attacking the rest of us who have a different and critical opinion then you’re the cuck. You want to go with attacks on posters. Let’s go and see how it goes for you, bully slurper.
Tell us all on the Manny Diaz doll did you get hurt? Bro, man up. You and your 55K posts on here. Seriously, go get some sunlight.

People saying they expected a dominant DL are full of ****. It was meltdown after meltdown about the DT position which last I checked was pretty important

Thankfully Barrow was better than expected (imo) he always had good PFF grades but was overshadowed by Harmon
We are going to need the young guys to grow up this offseason, a ton of talent at de and motel started to play well. Need scott to be a stud and supplement with some proven players in the portal, no reaches.

You’ve been here a little over a year and have less than 220 posts. If you think you’re going to start insulting people freely, and survive here, you wont. Keep away from the insults and there’s no problem. Go the attacking bully slurper route and me and my 55,000 + posts will end your existence here. The choice is yours.

Um, no. It's massively important, for sure. But we nailed it better than any program in the country this year, and we went 10-2 and won't play for the ACC, again. While it is the most important position in sports, we need defensive help in the back 7 just as badly.

I know this won't be popular, but if you said I could have a slight downgrade from Cam at QB combined with the same secondary for 2025, or I could have Emory Williams combined with the best DB portal class in the country, give me Emory and an influx of DBs.

A new DC factors into this as well, but we had the worst secondary I can remember ever having at Miami in my lifetime, and that's saying something because we've recruited that group like dog**** for a LONG time.

So you can't say the portal QB is literally all that matters. That is not true. I'd argue it matters very little if we trot Jaden Harris and Jadais Richard and Dyoni Hill out there again.
Ironically, Dyoni Hill just posted he is returning next year...

Not a very good class considering the season they just had. No way to spin it. Some good talent but overall a too many low floor guys.

DB class is bad no matter which way you look at it. 3 years straight of bad evaluations and terrible recruiting under a HC who clearly isn’t taking this group serious enough.

LB class was a big strikeout. Wiley is the only player likely to play here.

The OL class is very average and that’s concerning with Rivers gone, Francis gone after next year, and if Bell actually improves alot, he’s also gone. The recruiting for OT has been bad ever since the Samson/Francis class. Too many projects who likely don’t amount to anything. The interior class was definitely better thanks to SJ.

DT - 🤣 Another position group that Mario has consistently struggled to recruit. Signed two kids who likely won’t play here. Need at least two portal players and I’m sure we’ll sign the likes of Gore, Cook, Campbell types.

DE - Big fan of the two we signed.

WR - Very good class. All 3 should play early at Miami

TE - No elite talents but a solid group.

QB - Eh. Nickel is definitely a better prospect than the first QBs Mario recruited here but still not anywhere close to where to it needs to be. Another position Mario struggles big time to recruit.

RB - Perfectly fine with 1 RB and Pringle is a very good recruit. If Allen stays, Fletcher, Lyle, and Allen should be the top 3.

I get what you’re saying entirely. I don’t know what we are getting in Emory, but if he’s a game manager who doesn’t lose games then I agree with what you are saying. The talent identification and recruiting at DB has been dreadful l, particularly at CB. It’s like they value tackling more than speed and coverage at CB and we’ve got guys who consistently get torched.

For sure, there are a million moving parts here, I just think from a really macro perspective, we literally just had the #1 offense in the country and couldn't make it to Charlotte. Ideally, absolutely, give me the #1 offense again and a much better defense. That'd be super cool. But it's beyond unlikely we have the #1 offense again, so if I had to choose, give me a better defense, secondary specifically, and let's ride. I like the talent on offense. Put someone competent behind center and we should be at least OK.

I agree with this. It wasn’t the master plan going in, but it was the right decision at the end.
Do you see us strongly looking for a veteran starting caliber portal QB or is the staff wanting emory and a borderline guy just to push emory?

Offensive class is right where it needs to be. The place where we fail to breakthrough the most is bringing in Top 100 type talent at DT - seems we have to nail our eval on the mid 3*/low 4* types every year- which places us having to pay for proven DT talent in the portal (I’m wondering if that’s part of the strategy at that position for Mario).

Nix was a huge blow but in the same breath, Wiley was a massive addition and continues our upward trajectory at the LB position - getting both would’ve been a game changer at LB so I understand the disappointment there.

Stubbs flipping hurts because we badly needed to throw numbers at the DB position for development - BUT - I think Fitzgerald is going to shock a lot of folks and become a 2-3 year starter at Safety. His lack of physicality was obviously overlooked by Mario because we need a playmaking difference maker at Safety and he’s exactly that.

Overall the DB/CB recruiting would’ve been solid but bringing in 2 kids coming off major injuries takes a lot of the shine off the otherwise talented group.

Did not realize how bad the DT class was. That’s not good. That’s what separates top programs. That position. And portal is not the move there. It’s jags or pricy guys
Just means Scott, Jones, and Blount have to all hit. Especially, Scott and Blount because they got paid big money. And JHorton needs to step up. Looks like the light came on for Moten. So thats 5 DTs right there who need to take the next step and that room should be fine. Feels like we only played 3 DTs in the rotation this year most of the time anyway. (Barrow, Mesidor and Clark) Wasnt until Barrow got injured that Moten started to come on late in the year.

We'll plug the holes at DB in the portal! No problemo!

We've previously done a great job identifying and signing talents like (checks notes) Daryl Porter, Jaden Davis, Jadais Richard, Davonte Brown, Terry Roberts, Meesh Powell, Dyoni Hill, Isaiah Taylor, Savion Ridley...

... oh boy.

This x1000. You knew we had money when we plucked Wiley Jr. So that showed right there the staff wasnt going to just be silly with the spending to "win" signing day. I would rather "win" the portal honestly.
That assumes we win the portal
If we strike out then it’s win 2026
We can tkeep
Kicking the can down the street

I’ve been saying that all year long
We gotta hope jones and Scott take a huge step this off season

Mario need to come pick up his teenage super slurper. He keeps yelling about cucks while watching his program get ****ed in front of him.

I mean make the for and against posts on the arguments with reasoning not insults. It doesn’t add qualitatively to board content, rather, it pushes discussions and participation off the board. People are Cucks for questioning or criticizing evals when we see where the evals got us on defense this year???
