Rankings aside, a big difference between this and the previous classes of this regime is the presence of a legit QB. That can make all the difference in the world.

The only positive I am taking away from the DISASTER that happened in the pas 7 days is that Mario feels worse than all of us combined. I am sure he's not sleeping well right now. I am sure he's on the case. What I'm not sure is if he's capable of addressing the failure points. Who will he picks as his next DC and DB tandem, who will he be able to keep vs. lose to the portal or NFL from the current roster, who will he land from the portal? Massive open questions.

He is losing sleep because he works harder not smarter, struggles with multitasking and focuses on the wrong things -- less injury report, media manipulation and more hiring a competent staff, filling a complete roster and finishing his game day for dummies tutorial.

Not trying to put lipstick on a pig, but you are watching college football change in front of your eyes. What has happened over the last 2 years and this year have fundamentally changed what we call college football. I have been the biggest supporter of many of the changes that have taken place, in which these players deserve a part of the pie, and what we have seen is them getting a bigger piece of it than before (make no mistake, there was part of it going on under the table with bags).

With that said, there are no rules per se on it, so it is the wild wild west. In that type of environment, you are going to see where it makes sense to do what we did last year, because the players were there to pay big. Then you are going to see what you see this year, where we let some of them walk because the value isn't there.

Overall, I think we did the right thing in both years. This year doesn't look as **** when you walk away. In addition, UM Novembers hurt us once again, there is no fixing that other than winning in November going forward.

I hope we are right this year, where you have the grunt style of non-**** class that builds for a more solid future. Do I think that next year isn't as good as wins as this year... Yeah, Cam 2.0 isn't walking through that door.

Last, I think part of the evolution we are seeing is that you have to rely more and more on the portal (proven kids at the D1, maybe high D2 level) than kids out of high school. If I was spending my own money, I personally would have as 60-40 split or even higher on portal versus high school.

I agree this year seemed like a down year. Kids like Stubbs and Ffrench ill leave it at those 2 but they seem like a Mark Pope and Tae Willams where they were ranked high but wont do ish why over pay them just for the recruiting rank? Also the portal tour getting tape on kids playing D1 ball so you know more of what your getting. This years portal seems filled with younger kids that have balled out already. Thats who we need to pay! These portal kids go hard at that this year an we will be right back where we need to be. I see everything we need in the portal for next year RIGHT NOW just hope were agreesive this year. We all were thinking wtf are they doin in the secondary and it burned us was the difference from playoffs and hesrt break of a season. Give me Ponds, Jackson, and a couple safetys with experience this year an we'd all be waiting to see our boys in the playoffs. I dont think Guidry forgot how to coach this year we loved him last year better yet James Willams and Cam Kitchens woulda come back we would have been fuxkin!!!

Im not defending Guidry either dont thibk ee should bring him back after this year thats just business
