Article: NCAA Charges Miami With Lack of Institutional Control

What was the other 114K for? Are they including the receipts with no evidence that players were at those dinners/parties/club outings?

Where is the proof?

Remember $10K that they could not create a proof against one of our basketball players.

The figures that the NCAA's enforcement staff cited in the notice of allegations add up to a significantly lower total than what Shapiro told Yahoo Sports in 2011, when he estimated his extra-benefit spending spree as going into the "millions of dollars."

Good luck NCAA.

56k? That's it? Didn't Reggie Bush get a beach house?

Then this happened:

The documents indicate Newton's father, Cecil Newton, and ex-Mississippi State player Kenny Rogers sought from $120,000 to $180,000 for the quarterback to sign with the Bulldogs out of junior college but didn't ask any other school for money.

We couldn't even have purchased half of Cam Newton.

Those are approximate values given by the NCAA. I'm sure they are inflated unless they used credit card receipts as "proof".

AP: NCAA's allegations against Miami say Shapiro provided at least $170K in benefits, including $56K to football players/recruits.

Are Rolle and Wilfork two of the players who refused to speak with the NCAA, so this is a bunch of the sht from the extortion letter?

I didn't realize they used that tactic as proof. I thought the NCAA acknowledged that this was not allowed and fired someone. Amazing if they used this as proof.

This witch hunt is ******* hysterical at this point. We are going to sue the **** out of them. They are coming out with this nuggett right now to try and turn the tide of public opinion back in their favor. They don't have to prove **** when they are judge jury and executioner.

This system is broke, is a fraud and needs to be torn down and rebuilt without this horse **** ruling body.

LOTS of You got to be ****tin me in this...

1. 170K total - so the Rat AND Robinson lied about the figures being in the millions
2. $90k to Wilfork and Rolle ... LOL prove it. and didn't Vince declare and Rolle was a senior
3. $56K on 87 people ... over 8 Years... not a huge some - but probably where the LOIC is based on
4. ALL These Figure are Approx!!!!... meaning the NCAA doesn't have the physical proof just hearsay

Meaning... The NCAA clearly are going by the Yahoo story and taking everything in it as factual. Ain't this some ****... God ****!!

Does the statue of limitations go back to when this investigation started in 1986?

Wilfork was drafted in 2004 and rolle in 2005. Doesn't the statute limit it to 5 years?

Correct me if I'm wrong. Don't know all that much about it

They can break the statute of limitations if the behavior never stopped, which they are obviously doing

Something about a pattern of willful violations allows them to go back as far as they want.

Because of our baseball team's two-year probation, from 2/03 to 2/05, we could have got that stupid repeat/willful violator provision.

Allegations included in a notice of allegations shall be limited to possible violations occurring not earlier than four years before the date the notice of inquiry is provided to the institution or the date the institution notifies (or, if earlier, should have notified) the enforcement staff of its inquiries into the matter. However, the following shall not be subject to the four-year limitation: (Revised: 10/12/94, 4/24/03, 10/27/11)

(a) Allegations involving violations affecting the eligibility of a current student-athlete;

(b) Allegations in a case in which information is developed to indicate a pattern of willful violations on the part of the institution or individual involved, which began before but continued into the four-year period; and

(c) Allegations that indicate a blatant disregard for the Association's fundamental recruiting, extra-benefit, academic or ethical-conduct regulations or that involve an effort to conceal the occurrence of the violation. In such cases, the enforcement staff shall have a one-year period after the date information concerning the matter becomes available to the NCAA to investigate and submit to the institution a notice of allegations concerning the matter.

1 more thing on the alleged 90k to Wilfork and Rolle...

I believe, if both players already declared, then it is irrelevant. They can be wined and dinned as much as possible at that point. Since there is no information or timeline, this is impossible to guess or speculate.
